According to a 1997 legal settlement, DHS could detain unaccompanied children captured at the border for only 20 days before releasing them to foster families, shelters or sponsors, pending resolution of their immigration cases.

That was expanded through other court rulings to include both unaccompanied and accompanied children.

Then, in 2008, the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act required…that’s REQUIRED unaccompanied minors from countries other than Mexico and Canada to be placed in the care of the Office of Refugee Resettlement, or relatives in the U.S., while they go through removal proceedings.

That legal settlement, and that Act are at the center of what liberals are now decrying as the inhumane separation of illegal alien kids from their illegal alien parents and naturally…

Lliberals are placing all the blame on President Trump.

The legal settlement took place while Bill Clinton held office, and the Act came about under President George W. Bush…and that Act, the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act was a bipartisan piece of work having been approved by unanimous consent…meaning that every Republican AND democrat approved of it.

So that’s the deal with the illegal alien kids, but what about the illegal alien parents?

Well…

According to Sarah Pierce, a policy analyst at the Migration Policy Institute, “The government absolutely has the option to release the parents,” she said, but added, “That’s as long as they aren’t a flight or safety risk.”

Seriously?

We’re talking about people without any documentation…we don’t know from where these people came, or for that matter, exactly who these people are. They crossed our border ILLEGALLY, thus breaking the law and making themselves CRIMINALS…that is if they weren’t criminals already, which we don’t know because we don’t know who they are or where they’re from.

Doesn’t that make them a safety risk? I believe it does and if you don’t…consider this…

Would you consider someone who broke into your home, who you don’t know, and you don’t know from where they came…who is by the way in your home ILLEGALLY to be a safety risk? Damn skippy you would.

And a FLIGHT RISK???

We’re talking about ILLEGAL ALIENS who took flight from whatever country they came from to break into OUR country ILLEGALLY and who intend to SQUAT in our country…essentially FOREVER…but will constantly move around from city to city…state to state in order to stay ahead of the LAW…so yeah…they ARE a flight risk in addition to being a SAFETY risk.

So…exactly what sort of inhumane, God-awful, abysmal and horrific treatment are the illegal alien children of illegal alien flight and safety risk parents being subjected to during their separation from their illegal alien flight and safety risk parents?

Well…

They get three meals a day…two snacks a day…they’re being taught English…they’re being taught U.S. civics (something liberals have no knowledge of at all) and they have beds in which to sleep…all at the expense of American taxpayers.

Oh, the humanity.

That’s a hell of a lot better than our homeless veterans are being treated, and come to think of it, it is a hell of a lot better than most of our veterans have been treated by a broken VA system.

How many American citizen kids do you suppose aren’t getting three squares and two snacks a day? How many American citizen families don’t have a bed to sleep in every night? How many of our American citizen elderly are eating once every couple of days, or can’t afford to heat or cool their homes?

Rhetorical questions I know…but just asking for the sake of perspective.

According to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, “If you cross this border unlawfully, then we will prosecute you. It’s that simple. If you smuggle illegal aliens across our border, then we will prosecute you. If you are smuggling a child, then we will prosecute you and that child will be separated from you as required by law.”

We are, after all, a nation of laws…and what would be the use of having laws if we didn’t enforce the laws?

That rhetorical question brings us right back to Sarah Pierce who says… “Historically, most immigrants were not prosecuted, even when the law allowed for it, they were simply removed in civil proceedings. The significant uptick in criminal prosecution began under President George W. Bush, and continued through the early Obama administration.”

So…HISTORICALLY…”most immigrants were not prosecuted, even when the law allowed for it,” or in other words…most illegal alien flight and safety risk adults were deemed to be above the very laws enacted to prevent them from illegally entering our country.

Isn’t that delightful?

But…the significant UPTICK in PROSECUTIONS…that would be actually FOLLOWING the rule of law in a nation of laws…began under President George W. Bush and continued through the EARLY years of the Obama regime until, one can suppose, Obama realized that those illegal alien flight and safety risk adults could be registered to vote as DEMOCRATS.

It is just as easy to believe that were illegal aliens prone to voting Republican, the liberals would be sending both the illegal alien parents AND their illegal alien kids back over the border with CATAPULTS.

Let me put this another way…liberals are having a socialist collective COW over the meddling by Russians in our election process while at the exact same time, they are REGISTERING illegal aliens to meddle in our election process by ILLEGALLY VOTING.

Of course, if illegal aliens meddled in our elections the way the Russians did…by buying advertising on Facebook, Zuckerberg would be sending THEM to Facebook Jail and the mainstream media would be demanding a special prosecutor be appointed to find out why the government hasn’t built a bigger, more powerful CATAPULT.

As things now stand however, liberals are pitching fits about illegal alien families being torn apart, and they just can’t seem to get to the nearest microphone fast enough.

I have no idea what that is, but I know it’s a liberal whatever it is,  and for that matter…has anyone seen either Hansel OR Gretel since that whatever it is took office?

I didn’t think so.

Do I care that illegal alien flight and safety risk parents are being separated from their illegal alien spawn? Not particularly…no…but I do care that liberals are obviously not in favor of following the very laws they were equally as instrumental in making as were Republicans that are in place simply because they can add to their voter rolls by turning a blind eye.

That said…I have a solution to this problem of enforcing existing laws that will…no doubt…be met with tremendous scorn by liberals.

My advice to any and all potential future illegal aliens who would rather not be separated from their illegal alien spawn…don’t come here illegally.

We are a nation of laws, and there is absolutely no reason to believe that any who break the law by coming here illegally in the first place will follow, or adhere to any of our laws should we just allow that first illegality to stand.

We love immigrants, and immigrants are those who come here by legal means, thus adhering to our laws to become U.S. citizens and become productive and respected members of our society. That, of course, includes assimilating into our culture, learning our language, paying taxes and becoming United States citizens.

What we don’t care for are squatters who come here from wherever to attach themselves like leeches to the American taxpayers while breeding like rabbits thus sucking the system dry.

Those would be your illegal aliens.

Now then, on the off chance you happen to BE an illegal alien taking advantage of the American taxpayer while waving the flag of whichever shithole country you came here illegally from, and you have been separated from your extra welfare check garnering illegal alien spawn…quit your whining.

We didn’t drag you across our border kicking and screaming, did we? We didn’t hold a gun to your head and order you to come here without following proper, legal procedure…did we?

No we did not, and being plied to do so by liberals who give away taxpayer money to you like we give away candy on Halloween in return for your votes isn’t the same thing, and you know it.

America is the land of opportunity…not the land of all the free crap you want at someone else’s expense and just because YOU don’t respect our laws doesn’t mean we shouldn’t ENFORCE our laws…a couple of which make it clear that you can be separated from your kids if you don’t FOLLOW our IMMIGRATION laws.

And don’t start with crying DACA to me either. According to the Department of Homeland Security, 59,786 DACA recipients have been arrested while in the U.S. for committing crimes of which many are violent crimes including assaults, rapes and even murders…there’s that “safety risk” I’ve been talking about…and since we have no idea who you illegal aliens might really be, where you might have come from or anything about your background…until we can sort you out…you are ALL a safety risk.

And finally…liberals…we all know why you want to flood us with illegal aliens and give away our money to them…you want their votes…but rather than pissing and moaning about actually enforcing existing laws…how about you get on board with Republicans to make and pass NEW immigration laws thus reforming the system to make it quicker and easier for those who really want to become U.S. citizens to do so the RIGHT way…through LEGAL means?

Also liberals, you may want to take note of the fact that you are now in a panty wadding situation over laws YOU actually approved…which brings about this little truth bomb…just as there are consequences for BREAKING our laws…there are also consequences for MAKING and APPROVING our laws which include the ENFORCING of those laws.

Obviously, you liberals got on board and unanimously approved the immigration laws believing nobody would ever enforce those laws because approving them meant you could pretend you actually DID something with regard to illegal aliens crossing our nation’s borders. You never expected someone like President Trump who believes in the RULE of law to come along and actually ENFORCE the laws you approved…well…guess what?

At least the illegal alien kids separated from their illegal alien parents are getting a lesson in civics, and in that light, allow me to provide a remedial civics lesson to both future illegal aliens, and to the liberals who love them…

We ARE a nation of laws. Breaking our laws has consequences. You may well not like those consequences. So…don’t break our laws. If you don’t like this lesson in civics, and if you don’t want to follow our existing laws you do have a few choices…

Don’t come here illegally…

Get the hell out of our country…

And get the hell out of our elected offices.

It is just that simple.
