The Pandemic Panic in Proper Perspective

The coronavirus, COVID-19 or the Chinese virus shouldn’t scare you. It should concern you, especially if you happen to be in a high-risk category.

What should scare the bejesus out of you is how people that hoard toilet paper for a respiratory virus are going to vote this November.

It’s easy to make fun of certain aspects of this COVID-19 media driven, and liberal weaponized outbreak of the uncommon cold, and I have done just that in previous articles. It is also easy to poke fun at the terminally inane dolts who went panic shopping for toilet paper and hand sanitizer and I have also done plenty of that.

But maybe it is now time to put a lot of the panic over the pandemic into its proper perspective and try to provide some much needed common sense to the situation.

Here we go…

The panic is being driven by the liberal mainstream media, and politicized by elected liberals but the truth of it is, COVID-19 is not the end of the world as we know it. Oh, it may seem that way right now, but this too shall pass. The reason for the manufactured panic is nothing but another coup attempt against President Trump, and like previous coup attempts, it will fail.

Don’t look at your 401K every hour on the hour. It stinks…for now…but when this is over and it will be over, stocks are going to skyrocket again. How bad is it right now? Just how bad is the stench today? Put into its proper perspective, the stock market has sunk to its Obama/Biden levels. Think about that for a moment…elected liberals and their mainstream media propagandists are pushing the Wall Street panic in an attempt to make the economy look so bad that Trump won’t be reelected.

Those liberals are so desperate that they’re hoping it gets so bad that returning to the Obama/Biden stock market levels will get Joe Biden elected. Think of it this way…stocks are on sale, and so too are loans. Buy more stocks, refinance your loans, and when this is over, you’ll be sitting pretty.

If you’re running low on toilet paper, or other essential items because panic shoppers bought the stuff by the truckloads, sure, things may be a bit inconvenient for a while, but those are supply chain problems and as such, are short-term issues. Guess who isn’t working from home right now…the folks who produce those things and the good folks who haul those things. The key is not to be greedy. When stores have such items, only buy what you need to get through the next couple of weeks, and thus allow others in your area to do the same.

While you’re at it, maybe buy a couple extra but no more than a couple of extra non-perishable food items than you would normally buy. That will limit your need to make weekly trips to the store, and allow for others to make the same adjustment. There’s no need to suddenly become a prepper and stock your zombie apocalypse bunker that used to be your basement family room with crates of Fruit Loops and Spam…just become a conscientious consumer so you can get through a couple of weeks while leaving enough on store shelves for others to get through the next couple of weeks.

Stay away from the Raisin Bran and dried prunes because…you know…the whole toilet paper thing.

Many people are concerned about their children, and their children are now at home rather than being babysat by the government thus causing many adults to be concerned about their own mental health. Kids are now going to virtual school which means liberals are now trying to indoctrinate kids via the internet.

It is fair to say that most families in America aren’t equipped to suddenly be home schoolers for a variety of reasons. They just send the kids off to government daycare every day, and they don’t really pay much attention to the way their kids are indoctrinated to think while they’re there. Well, here’s your chance to straighten your kids out a bit, to teach them how to think rather than what to think, and to teach them some of life’s realities rather than blow sunshine up their pants.

This is your chance to participate in your child’s education by paying attention to what they’re being “taught” in their schools. Sit at the computer and listen to what they’re being told, pay attention to the curriculum and who knows…it just might prompt you to demand some much needed changes in your local school boards.

Make the most of this time with your families while social distancing remains in place rather than thinking of it as some sort of prison combined with a juvenile detention facility. Identify true priorities, reinstitute true American family values, and realize the importance being involved in each other’s daily lives. This is not a life sentence, and parole is closer than you might think but maybe, just maybe when life returns to normal, some of the good aspects of being stuck at home will linger.

Now, the question on everybody’s mind…how long is this whole crazy thing going to last?

Right now, it seems like eons, but in the big picture, it is but the blink of an eye.

A few weeks? A couple more months? Who really knows? But the less time you spend ignoring the constraints of social distancing and defying the request to not engage in large groupings, the faster life will return to normal. The truth is, nobody really knows the time frame of this media and liberal manufactured pandemic panic but there are a few things that can be said with a high degree of certainty.

There will be more bankruptcies than deaths in America because of the political nonsense being foisted upon us by liberals. Businesses, many if not most of them being the mom and pop stores on Main Street America may not survive and that is exactly what liberals in the media and elected office are hoping for. They don’t have to get their way. You can foil their plans. Small business is, and always has been the backbone of America and you have the power to reinvigorate that.

Sure, it’s convenient to order online, to shop online from the big clearing houses, but how convenient is it in the long run? For years, the Amazons have been eating away at the local retail market, and why? Because people have become too lazy to shop locally, and have been socially distancing themselves from local retailers. Stop it. Don’t wait for, or count on government bailouts to recuse mom and pop stores. YOU can bail them out. YOU can prop them up. YOU can shop locally, spend locally, and reinvigorate your local market.

But why should you when it is so much easier to just click “add to cart?”

Well, from where do you think those clearing houses get the stuff you “add to cart?” Most of it comes from China, while a good deal of it comes from other foreign entities. From where did the coronavirus come? The same damned place.

Rather than how long will this last, perhaps the better question would be…how much longer will the American public put up with all of this, and the answer is…not much longer.

President Trump said earlier this week that he would like to re-open America by Easter, and while that’s a couple of weeks away, and better than a week past the original 15 days of the guidelines, the fact that a stimulus bill has been passed and signed means there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and economic stability, or at least the foundation for it means that folks will put up with it all just a bit longer.

When this is over, and it will be over, quit China and the rest of those suppliers by going to your local retailers and asking them to sell Made in America. Stimulate American manufacturing by buying American and watch the prices come down. Keep YOUR money in YOUR hometown, in YOUR neighborhood and watch your town and neighborhood come back to life.

Consider this…why invest in China’s future while letting America’s future go to hell in a hand bag? China’s future isn’t your future…America’s IS.

Sure, some businesses should get some taxpayer assistance to keep them in business, but great care should be taken to make sure that those businesses are American businesses. Right now we’re hearing a good deal about how bad things are for the cruise line industry but here’s a bit of something you may not realize…Disney Cruises sail the seas under the Bahamian flag. Carnival Cruises go from port to port under the flag of Panama. Celebrity Cruises fly the Maltese flag. Why? Because by sailing under the flags of other countries they have avoided paying American taxes. Now they want American taxpayer money to bail them out?

I say no way unless…UNLESS they all reflag their ships immediately under our Stars and Stripes so that when their business picks back up, and it will, they will be adding to the economy that bailed out their sinking ships.

Apply the same standard to every business looking for help. In order to get a slice of the American pie, you must be as American as apple pie.

Well, there you go. Common sense solutions to the manufactured COVID-19 hysteria. Chill out, make the most of what seems like an endless situation because it will end sooner than you think, follow the simple advice in this article and my guess is that by early this summer, you will have survived the fake pandemic panic in far better shape than you ever thought possible.

If I’m right, the social distancing will have ended in time to gather in large groups by Independence Day at which point rather than wishing everyone a Happy 4th of July, we can proudly proclaim our independence by shouting…

HAPPY AMERICA FIRST DAY!!
