NOT “The People’s Choice”

By Craig Andresen Right Side Patriots http://www.americanpbn.com/

To those who continue to harp about Donald Trump being “the people’s choitf 1ce,” I’m not really sure they possess a clear understanding of what that means.

They say it because Trump is the presumptive nominee but there is much more to the facts than there is to the myth That trump is ‘the people’s choice.

Oh, sure, we all hear the crowing that Trump received more primary votes than any other candidate in history but that’s a lot like saying that the unemployment rate is 4.5% and believing it. Trump got more votes…because there are more people of voting age but the reality of it is that Trump got 42% of the primary votes…which include those liberals who crossed the aisle to vote for HIM…before strolling BACK to the left to vote for Hillary.

That also plays into the whole myth that Trump is “the people’s choice,” because if 42% of Republican voters voted FOR Trump…that means that 58% of Republican voters did NOT vote for Trump and as that is a double digit difference…not in Trump’s favor…he can’t possibly be “the people’s choice.”

Then there are Donald Trump’s favorability ratings…

tf 2They stink…out loud.

Trump is sporting historically dreadful favorability ratings. In fact, according to polls…Trump has a whopping 29% FAVORABILITY rating while posting a stunning 70% UNfavorability  rating.

Now I ask you…how can someone, disliked by 7 out of 10 people in the country, possibly be “the people’s choice?” Sure, I realize that the 70% figure includes ALL people which includes democrats, but among Republicans…Trump only has a 50% favorability rating and that is declining.

Not only is Trump not “the people’s choice,” he’s not even the Republican people’s choice.

Let’s break down the demographics and see if there’s a bright spot hiding in there for Donald Trump. 27% of all voters feel Trump’s version of “change for the country,” would be right. A full-on 52 % believe it would be completely wrong. No bright spot there.

A Washington Post poll shows Trump with an 80% disapproval rating from Hispanics and allows that he will be lucky to pull in around 17% of their votes. Romney got 27% of the Hispanic vote. No bright spot there.tf 3

Among women, Trump is seen as UNfavorable by 70% and among men, Trump unfavorability is at 55% so no bright spots there either.

How about black people? Where does Trump line up in that demographic? Hmmm…94% of black people have an UNfavorable opinion of Donald Trump. No bright spots there.

Surely Trump appeals to the millennials. Nope. Among millennials, Trump has 25% support and Hillary is enjoying a 61% favorable rating in that demographic. Obviously, as a result of the dumbing down of America via government indoctrination centers, also known as public schools and asylums of higher indoctrination…millennials are looking for something for nothing and they are gullible enough to believe that the government is going to take care of them from cradle to grave but still…just 25%? No bright spot there.

tf 4College educated white people? How many times HAS Trump told us that he has, “a good brain,” or that he’s “smarter than everybody else,” or that he has, “the best words?” More than we can count and yet, among college educated white people…Trump’s favorability is at a stagnant 31% which means there are around 69% in that demographic that do NOT view Trump as favorable.

Isn’t there ANY demographic where Trump stands above the rest?

Yes…yes there is…

tf 5Among voters without a college degree, those with only a high school education or those who have dropped out of high school…Donald Trump is as happy as a hog in slop…rolling and wallowing in a 55% favorability rating.

Ahhhhh…”the people’s choice.”

But Trump’s lack of popularity isn’t reserved for garden variety voters…he is also falling out of favor with those who jumped on the Trump Train Wreck to endorse him.

Mitch McConnell says he won’t rule out un-endorsing Trump.  McConnell is a RINO so who cares really? Trump should care…he doesn’t have that many friends and he’s losing the few he does have. Newt Gingrich is still in the Trump camp…but just barely. Paul Ryan…just barely and what of the evangelical leaders? They jumped on the train early but now…even THEY are feeling remorse and trying desperately to get Trump to straighten up and fly right.

Scott Walker, who like so many others who were in the race, pledged to support the nominee but Walker is now pushing for the delegates NOT to cast their votes in Trump’s direction. Rubio is on the cusp of backing away from his tacit support…Cruz hasn’t said that HE will support a Trump nomination…and has anyone heard boo-diddly from Chris Christi lately?

And how about the NRA?tf 6

Trump’s followers have spent a great deal of time and energy to lambaste those of us who know what Trump’s gun control stand really is…and it’s the same as the liberal stance…by telling us repeatedly that the NRA is 100% behind Trump. Here’s what the NRA had to say last week regarding Trump’s idiotic comments, advocating people in nightclubs be strapped and start shooting back…

“No one thinks that people should go into a nightclub drinking and carrying firearms. That defies common sense. It also defies the law.”

So, what were Trump’s idiotic comments?

“If some of those wonderful people had gun strapped right here—right to their waist or right to their ankle—and one of the people in that room happened to have it and goes ‘boom, boom,’ you know that would have been a beautiful, beautiful tf 7sight, folks.”  Trump later said THIS… “It’s too bad some of the people killed over the weekend didn’t have guns attached to their hips where bullets could have thrown in the opposite direction. Had people been able to fire back it would have been a much different outcome.”

After being slammed by the NRA, Trump issued this statement… “When I said that if, within the Orlando club, you had some people with guns. I was obviously talking about additional guards or employees.”

Uh huh…obviously…right?

The problem for those who have endorsed Donald Trump, is that they are going to have to spend their days, and nights, defending him and their own choice to have endorsed him in the first place, but forget those who have endorsed Trump for a moment and think about the one that Trump endorsed…Renee Elmers, congresswoman from North Carolina, so far was the ONLY member of congress to get Trump’s stamp of approval and his endorsement…she then promptly lost her primary.

A strong presidential nominee’s coattails would be ridden by those seeking office but Trump’s coattails, dragging through the mud, are a different story and nobody in a position tf 8to hold or acquire a seat in November is running to get in close with Trump…for good reason. In fact, the GOP and RNC are becoming desperate to get Trump in line because they fear losing the house and senate in a devastating tsunami of anti-Trump unfavorability ratings.

But it’s not just his unfavorability among voters or candidates that’s making the news…it’s Trump’s unfavorability among donors that is equally disconcerting.

The RNC gave Trump a list of 20 big donors to call on…Trump called on only 3 and then…gave up. So far, he’s raised only $3.1 million dollars and what he has done with that paltry amount is stunning.

Trump has spent 1 of every 5 dollars he managed to con out of people…paying his own businesses..tf 9.and his family.

It seems that his army of blind followers are more than willing to go on the social media attack against those of us who see the despicable truth regarding their candidate…but they aren’t putting their money where their mouths and keyboards are.

Why not?

Could it be because for the past year, at every opportunity and in many cases, where the opportunity didn’t actually present itself, Trump boasted of his vast wealth? Could it be because he said he was “self-funding” his campaign, while in reality…he wasn’t? Could it be that while Trump was LOANING his campaign money and then repaying those LOANS with money sent to him by the gullible…thus engaging in money laundering…he was telling people, like con men do, that he didn’t WANT their money?

So far, Trump’s campaign has been a cross between a money laundering operation and a Ponzi scheme and big donors…small ones too…are just sick and tired of hearing about how much more money Trump has than they do and if that’s the case…why send him more money?tf 10

Well, a few people did, as Trump managed to raise $3 million dollars on Tuesday. In Contrast, Ted Cruz raised $12 million last February, so why Trump is now bragging about his $3 million, is anybody’s guess.

To be completely honest…Trump’s biggest problem is Donald Trump. The man just can’t get out of his own way and every time he shoots off his mouth…he hits himself in the foot.

And at that point, what is a candidate, with a bazooka sized mouth, a B.B. sized brain and wounded feet to do? He blames the press.

“The press is treating me unbelievably unfairly, and with all of that bad press I’ve had over the last couple of weeks, and it’s — believe me, that’s manufactured press, 100 percent. I’ve had days where there should have been good deals and good days, and the press comes out negatively.”

The prtf 11ess isn’t responsible for Trump’s favorability issues, his fund raising issues or his endorsement issues. Donald Trump is and his issues are his, and his alone to own.

These are the facts…Trump is THE most unpopular candidate in history…Clinton is quite possibly the second most unpopular. He’s a con man…she’s a traitor. Trump’s being sued. Hillary’s being investigated and neither one of them is fit for office.

This should be an election that Republicans win hands down, in a landslide…considering what we’ve dealt with over the past 8 years but unfortunately, unless something major transpires at the convention next month…the GOP has hitched their wagon to a glue horse in a race against an old worn out plow nag that’s gotten people killed and the glue horse ain’t gonna win.

The GOP SHOULD have hitched up to a Conservative thoroughbred but you can’t teach old RINO’s new tricks…something wasted on Trump’s blind following who seem to think that running Trump will teach the GOP a lesson. Did they learn from Bob Dole? Did they learn from John McCain? How about Romney?

No, no and no…so what makes anybody think they’ll learn anything from Trump? In that tf 12respect, those who have voted for Trump are as much to blame as Trump himself. Less than half of all Republican voters got behind a loser and pushed him through a field of 17 candidates to the inevitable conclusion…he’s going to lose…but  it was an outsider they wanted…someone not connected in Washington. At least that’s what they have been claiming.

Well…Cruz is actually LESS connected as Cruz has never paid politicians for political favors. Cruz, in that regard, actually has FEWER friends in Washington that does Donald Trump. Ted Cruz has taken loans from big banks…that much is true…but Trump’s big bank loans DWARF those of Ted Cruz.

But the real difference is found in their ideology.

While Trump’s past is absolutely littered with one liberal agenda item after another…Cruz’s past is replete with rock-solid, core-principled Conservatism and Constitutionalism.

While Trump has bumper-sticker slogans printed on foreign-made hats…Cruz has substance and the necessary wherewithal to turn his plans into reality.

And while Trump’s followers are now nearing desperation mode, trying to convince us all that Trump’s saving grace is that between he and Hillary…Trump is the lesser evil…the sad fact is, that far, FAR too many Republican voters with their eyes wide open have realized that Trump is, in fact, the equal of the 2 evils and they simply cannot bring themselves to vote for him any more than Trump’s followers can bring THEMSELVES to abandon their sure-fire loser.tf 13

The fate of our nation now rests outside the hands of the voters and squarely IN the hands of the delegates who could, should they have a mind and a conscience to do so, prevent a loser vs. loser matchup in November and give us all a fighting chance by not allowing Donald Trump to secure the Republican nomination.

Delegates…what say you?
