I’ll Stand With the Constitutional Conservative

By Craig Andresen Right Side Patriots http://www.americanpbn.com/

A few days ago, I was told, in no uncertain terms by one of Donald Trump’s blind followers to, cru 1take my support for Cruz and “stick it!”

She failed to say where but she was clear in that she simply didn’t want to read the truth about Trump, and in that respect, she is not alone as Trump’s followers just don’t seem to be capable of handling the truth.

I have always said that if one really wants to know what liberals are up to, just look at what they accuse Conservatives of doing. If there is a liberal handbook, I suggest that blaming conservatives for exactly what the liberal is doing is on page one.

Before the final tally from Wisconsin was in, but after it was clear that Ted Cruz would post a double digit victory there, Donald Trump issued another signature tantrum in which he accused Cruz of a crime directly related to this election.

Trump accused Cruz of coordinating directly with his Super Pacs which is in direct violation of election law and he did so without providing any details, without naming any witnesses and without even the slightest shred of evidence and while many regard such an allegation as little more than sour grapes, the incessant whining of one who acts like a 2 year old who didn’t get his way…I suggest there is much more to it than that.

Earlier in the day, with the polls open and people in Wisconsin lining up to cast their votes, Donald Trump himself was videotaped greeting people outside a polling place…virtually cru 2campaigning. As long as he remained a minimum of 100 feet from the door, it was within the law but…that is not what reportedly happened. Trump went inside and that is against the law.  The video in question shows Trump glad-handing outside the polling place in Waukesha. Another video showed trump to be clearly within the 100 foot zone and possibly as close as 20 feet of Waukesha Fire Station #5 and witnesses claim he was, at one point, inside the building.

The Wisconsin Government Accountability Board has confirmed that they are investigating and if they see that Trump was in violation of Wisconsin statutes, they will refer the matter to the Waukesha County DA for possible prosecution which, should he then be found guilty, would result in not more than a $1000.00 fine or 6 months in jail…or both.

Trump accused Cruz of violating election laws in his obtuse statement before word could get out of Trump’s violations of election laws as nothing more than a deflection of his own act of lawlessness. If you really want to know what a liberal is up to, just pat attention to what he accuses a Conservative of doing.

I am often asked why I support Ted Cruz over Trump.

cru 3The easy answer is that Trump is a liberal, always has been and he has the paper and video trail to prove it while Cruz is, has been and shows no signs of ever being anything but a true Conservative, but the real answer goes much deeper than that.

Ted Cruz has spent nearly his entire life, at least from the age of 13, studying and defending our Constitution. As a teen, Cruz memorized it and spoke about its significance and importance. Cruz has stood and defended our Constitution 9 times in the Supreme Court and there is no more well -rounded scholar of the Constitution than Ted Cruz. Trump, on the other hand, seems to have very little knowledge of our Constitution and has never stood to defend it anywhere on record.

I believe that taking our country back necessarily begins with one who not only understands the Constitution but has spent a lifetime defending it against the progressives of liberalism who seek to render our founding document null and void and I trust Cruz to appoint the best Constitutional judges to federal courts and, of course, to the Supreme Court.

I trust Trump about as far as I can throw a piano.

Ted Cruz is a true Washington outsider. Yes…an outsider who, while in Washingtoncru 4, has stood tall against what he calls the Washington cartel, and what we call, the establishment of the GOP. Cruz has never been afraid to put his beliefs on the line for what is right against those even of his own party who are the go-along, get-along Washington insiders. From the floor of the senate, ted Cruz has called out both liberals and Republicans who were not doing the will of the people and those engaged in promoting their careers as elected officials over taking a stand against the forces who would take our country down.

Folks has asked me how I can say this even as the GOP establishment begins to rally for Cruz during this campaign.

Simple…they, the GOP establishment are coming to Cruz…Cruz is not going to the establishment. There’s a big difference in that. Ted Cruz has not abandoned one bit of his positions in favor of the GOP establishment. Cruz has never deviated from his core Conservative values nor from his core Conservative principles. He has not crawled to the GOP establishment, he has not apologized for rightfully calling them out nor has Cruz moderated his stand on the issues to appease the GOP establishment.

cru 5On the other hand, the GOP establishment, the elites of the party and the Washington career cartel members have been forced, begrudgingly, to move to the right to support Ted Cruz and that is a major accomplishment for the Senator from Texas.

Speaking of Texas…Ted Cruz ran his senatorial campaign by telling Texans exactly what he would do if they elected him to be their senator. They did, and he has done exactly what he told them he would do. Ted Cruz has stood against Obama, worked tirelessly to rid us of Obamacare, and taken on those in his own party who refuse to take the stands that Conservatives demand of their elected officials. To say that Cruz hasn’t made many friends in Washington as a result of keeping his promises is an understatement, but even Lindsey Graham, who not so long ago told the senate that should Cruz be murdered there, and the trial be held in the senate, the killer would not be convicted…has now been forced from left of center to the Conservative right to endorse Ted Cruz in this 2016 presidential race.

And while the GOP establishment is coming to Ted Cruz, quite the opposite is true concerning Donald Trump as Trump, in desperation, is going to the GOP. It’s true, Donald Trump just brought in a GOP establishment guy, Paul Manafort, to run hiscru 6 Washington DC campaign office and Trump is going, hat in hand, to other GOP establishment types to fill recent openings among his campaign staff.

The difference here is clear…while the GOP is finally realizing that Cruz is the right man for the job and coming to him, Trump has been reduced to seeking out GOP insiders and soliciting their assistance but isn’t that exactly what Trump has done for decades…bought political favors from establishment insiders from both sides of the aisle?

When it comes to policy and substance, Ted Cruz hasn’t altered his tune, and he’s been putting forth the same, well thought out and soundly reasoned policy statements since the day he entered this race. That’s yet another thing Trump can’t claim with a straight face. Donald Trump seemingly hasn’t spent an hour contemplating either domestic or foreign policy over the past 40 years, and his all over the board and ridiculous policy projections throughout this campaign, made without substance or details, attest to that, while Ted Cruz has consistently put forth plans and details for both domestic and foreign policy plans.

Cruz is a man of core Conservative values and principles and he steadfastly adheres to them. Trump has no core values or principles outside of lining his own pockets as evidenced by his multiple positions on issues taken days, hours or in some cases, minutes apart.cru 7

The world is a very complex place, and a U.S. president must deal with those complex issues on many different levels…national security, the interests of our allies, our own national interests, finding ways to get seemingly opposite nations to work together toward common goals, striking a balance between cultural differences and the greater good of freedom and liberty. This is something Cruz can do, has done as a Senator and will do as president while Trump, on the other hand, has shown not an iota of capability along these lines whatsoever.

Trump, as the Emperor of his own empire, has always been a dictator…it’s his way or the highway, and to those who disagree with him, he has always leveled accusations and lawsuits. Trump’s M.O. of knee-jerk reactions and baseless claims meant to intimidate those who dare to disagree with him simply will not work on the world stage of policy.

Finally, what I look for in a candidate, is a history, a verifiable, vettable history of Conservatism and Ted Cruz has that history. From his time as the Solicitor General of Texas, throughout his time in the Senate and now, on the campaign trail, Ted Cruz is a Constitutional Conservative in every sense of the phrase.

Donald Trump, on the other hand…has a verifiable history that shows him as anything but a Conservative…

If Ted Cruz had the history of Donald Trump replete with the video proof, we would be seeing nothing but that all day long on Fox News and Ted Cruz’s resume reads like the handbook of what true Conservatives have been looking for since Reagan.

And if you  happen to be one of Trump’s blind followers, still desperately adhering to the false notion that Cruz is ineligible, and basing your misguided hopes on a number of lawsuits in various states…you can relax, lawsuit after lawsuit is being thrown out and Ted Cruz has been found to indeed be Constitutionally eligible in case, after case, after case. Trump’s blind followers may not like it any more than they like facts regarding their own candidate as per the video above, but the facts are the facts, like them ocru 8r not. Now, on the off chance Trump’s blind followers still want to cling to the false ineligibility claims, just show me one case from the filed lawsuits, one existing law, one definition of Natural Born found in any of our founding documents or one U.S. code in existence that proves otherwise or…

What was it that that Trump follower told me to do a few days ago?

Well, how about I’ll just stand with the Constitutional Conservative from Texas and she, along with the rest of Trump’s blind followers, can stand with the con man.
