Race in America – Bold Honesty and Facts

dial 1There is no black America.

There’s no white America either but as long as there is an NAACP, a New Black Panther Party, a Congressional Black Caucus and a black community there will be a divide between the races.

Don’t think for one minute that the KKK or the Aryan Nation and other such groups aren’t to share in the blame. They are and they need to go away too.

It doesn’t matter what color your skin is…if that color is what you think about when you get up in the morning, what you think about all day long, the basis for your decisions and your behavior and what you think about when you go to bed…

You are the problem and not a part of any viable solution.

If you seek an end to real racism in this country, don’t go around manufacturing fabricated cases of racism because when you dilute it nobody is going to pay any attention to it.

Seek justice where justice is due and not retribution or revenge as the latter two will solve nothing and will create nothing but animosity. Justice is gained through the courts. Revenge and retribution is gained on the streets and only brings more of the same from those who are the victims of it.

Life isn’t fair…

Government can only make all people equal at the bottom of the ladder and that’s not fair to those who have earned a better standard and while some have achieved that better standard via inheritance, that’s not unfair toward those who haven’t…it’s just the luck of the draw.dial 2

Opportunity is equal.

If you haven’t seized the opportunities afforded to all Americans in this country, don’t blame those who have. Start climbing that ladder…success is waiting for those who do at the top of it and there are a multitude of people of all colors who have done it.

Blaming people who died more than 100 years ago for your station in life is a cop out and you know it but it will always be easier than taking responsibility for your own self-inflicted social wounds.

Nobody in this country is holding you down or back other than yourself. If you’re white and you claim to be held back by corporations, you are lying to yourself. If you’re black and you dial 3claim to be held back by whites, you’re lying to yourself.

Regardless of color, privilege is not the problem. Regardless of color, an entitlement mentality is the problem.

Regardless of color or station in life, no one is entitled to take what they want from those who have more and no government should be in the business of redistributing the wealth from those who have earned it to those who have not.

Charity is another matter.

Those who have either earned wealth or inherited wealth are in a position to be generous. What they do with their wealth is their choice to make, not the government’s choice and the best way to seek their kindness is to earn it and the best way to earn it is to make something better of yourself when you are on the receiving end of it.

Regardless of color…if you are lazy do not expect to be thought of as ambitious.

Regardless of color…if you are a thug do not expect to be thought of as an upstanding member of society.

Do not pass off blame for your behavior on others who haddial 4 nothing to do with it. Hold yourself accountable for your own actions before you demand others be held accountable for theirs otherwise, no one will take you seriously.

Recognize right from wrong. Embrace what is right and do not put what is wrong on a pedestal and demand that others respect it.

It has been said that “Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” Judge individuals and individual cases by the facts and the proven evidence and you will never be any of the three but if you choose to believe that you will never be more than you are and that because of the color of your skin somebody is forcing that lot in life upon you…because that is what is commonly accepted and repeated by those around you…you will become all three.

It has also been said, “If you give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he’ll never go hungry.”

Get an education even if you have to educate yourself then go fishing with it…you will dial 5catch success all day long. Remain uneducated because that is your peer norm and you will add a damn thing to society…only take from it.

Achievement isn’t easy and sometimes there are setbacks. It is far easier to wallow in self-pity and blame it on others than to rise above the setbacks. Don’t give up…start over. Those who have achieved the most have all started over…time and time again.
And finally…

If there is to be a “national dialog” on race in America…it must be a dialog based in bold honesty, facts and indisputable statistics and not in emotion and fabrication for personal or political gain.

Black people comprise 13% of the population yet, half of all murders in this country are committed by black people and 93% of the murders of black people in this country are committed by other black people.

According to the CDC and the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice…Police killings of black people in America has declined by 70% over the past 50 years and is still in decline. In 2012, the last year of available statistics by this organization, 123 black people were dial 6killed by the police while 326 white people met the same fate.

According to the FBI Census Bureau…White people, who comprise 63% of the population in America committed 4,396 murders in 2013 while black people, comprising 13% of America’s population committed 5,375 murders in 2013.

A report in 2012 compiled by the Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention shows that in 2010…”black youths committed six times more murders, three times more rapes, 10 times more robberies and three times more assaults than did their white counterparts. “

The “Uniform Crime Reports” put together by the FBI shows that, “In the year 2008, black youths, who make up 16% of the youth population, accounted for 52% of juvenile violent crime arrests, including 58% for homicide and 67% for robbery. By contrast, the only categories where white youths surpassed blacks were in liquor law violations and driving under the influence.”

Back in 2005, in a report titled “The Color of Crime” the New Century Foundation found that, “Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and eight times more likely to commit robbery. . . . Blacks are an estimated 39 times more likely to commit a violent crime against a white than vice versa, and dial 7136 times more likely to commit robbery.”

When one looks at these inarguable statistics, one can clearly see that the problem is not one of systemically poor or decaying race relations but one of systemic cultural decline and since a majority of both white and black Americans are not the problem, it can be traced an increase in thug culture which is, like it or not, wildly more prevalent in black culture than in white culture.

If any dialog worth more than the thin air into which it is spoken is to yield results, it must first be addressed in that light. The steady decline in the nuclear black family unit, the steady decline in the influence of black faith-based groups, the steady decline in black youth getting an education, none of which can honestly be traced to “white privilege” or back to slavery has resulted in an increase in crime perpetrated by black people.

Government sponsored entitlement programs like welfare, food stamps and affirmative action over the decades has led not to lifting the standard of living for blacks in America but a growing dependence on government handouts which replaces ambition and dial 8self-reliance.

Among far too many black youth, street cred has become more valuable than school credits and those who see good students beat down by their own are more likely to join the thug culture than academic status via peer pressure.

Those who ignore such cultural pressures and rise above the fray leave the thug infested neighborhoods and are scorned by those who remain as not being black enough or for having turned their backs on their own kind.

Indeed, when we hear the likes of Obama, Sharpton, Holder, Jackson or other “black leaders” speak of the “black community” they are inevitably speaking of the inner cities where the thug culture dwells and never of those who have ascended from it and the problem, they continue to claim, is a racial divide between blacks and whites and now they have lumped a systemic distrust between blacks and law enforcement into their dishonest fabrications.

Since the death of Martin Luther King Jr. black “leadership” has decidedly failed the “black community” and the lies of liberalism that they are the only saviors of the “black community” have served only to perpetuate the downward spiral of cultural decay.

But to lay blame for a growing thug culture mentality among a minority yet highly visible segment of black people in America at the feet of the vast majority of white people in America is at best, a diversionary tactic and at worst a lie meant to propagate a sense of victimization where none actually exists.

While real racism, the subjugation of one race by another or crimes perpetrated by one against the other still exists, tdial 9hose cases are individual and isolated. It is no longer a systemic, pervasive matter of our culture and is for the most part based in ignorance rather than in actions…in thought rather than deed.

What has become systemic and pervasive is the fact that a generation of thug culture youth, and statistically that culture is predominately within the black population, is now creating a second or perhaps a third generation who knows no other way.

The goal should not to revamp laws or law enforcement so as to bend toward acceptance of thug culture or to try and instill a sense of acceptance of lawlessness into law abiding citizens that excuses thugishness regardless of the color of the thug.

The answer is to do away with false and fabricated racial victimhood foisted upon the minority but growing segment of the black population by their relevance-seeking leaders and replace it with a culture where prison is no longer considered a badge of honor, where the worst society has to offer isn’t regarded as role models and where the opportunity to succeed through hard work and education is seen as the way out rather than collecting what you can from the system and stealing what the system doesn’t provide.

The first problem that needs to be dealt with is not the relationship bEYES 10etween the white and black races in America…it’s the relationship between civility and the lack of it that exists within each of those races and the rest will work itself out in natural course.

If there is to be a “national dialog” on race in America…it must be a dialog based in bold honesty, facts and indisputable statistics and not in emotion and fabrication for personal or political gain and if that dialog needs a starter…you have just read it.

  1. Great article! But only one element of fact missing in it is; there is but one race, the human race. The fact there are differences in ethnicity, cultures, skin colors, & even differences in DNA does not take away from this fact.

No two of us are colored and put together completely the same, even among doubles and identical twin siblings. Yet we are all created by the same God, and have the same basic needs. I feel we need to grasp this fact first, before any of the rest of the above mentioned will be realized in full.

  2. Right on CA. Special Interests do not solve problems, they create them! Teach Truth not Fiction, and stop dealing with race from a position of guilt. Two wrongs do not make a Right.
