2016 – How to Make Liberals Say, “OH SH..”

Given the results of the Virginia Governor’s race and the proclivity of the GOP to embrace RINO’s like Chris Christi, I believe we, as the Tea Party, must make some changes.

I have written in The National Patriot of my disgust for the GOP and the RNC and that hasn’t changed but, I do believe there are 2 ways to go about winning.

One way is to go to war with the RNC and the GOP establishment and why not?

They have declared war on the Tea Party and, at first blush, if war is what they want, we’ll give it to them.

Right?

Well…

I believe there is another way.

Put up a front so formidable they will have 2 choices.

Join us or…

Be relegated to the annals of history.

To fully explain this, we must first take a look at recent history.

The Tea Party, an organic resistance to big government, high taxes and government intrusion sprang into existence in 2009-2010 as the force behind trying to stop Obamacare.

The early success of the Tea Party can be seen in the flipping of the house from liberal to conservative control and Obama himself referred to the 2010 midterm election as a “shellacking.”

Then came the 2012 general election and the Tea Party, still green behind the ears…

Splintered.

Certain Tea Party groups backed candidate A, others candidate B and down the line, candidates C, D, E, F and so on. This made for lively debates leading up to the primaries and well past that on social media with people backing their individual one and only candidate who they felt could steer the nation back to the Constitutional Republic entrusted to us by the founders and framers.

I warned of the impending disaster leading up TO the 2012 election but, each Tea Party faction was dead-set on their candidate of choice and guess what?

WE ALL LOST.

And when I say ALL, I mean ALL AMERICANS, not just the Tea Party.

Okay…Let’s jump to what happened 2 nights ago in Virginia.

With Obamacare being the driving force AGAIN…Cuccinelli closed the gap and the 13 point lead enjoyed by Terry McAuliff dwindled down to a slim 2.3 point margin in the end.

But, what was the REAL story behind Cuccinelli’s loss?

Robert Sarvis.

Sarvis was the 3rd PARTY CANDIDATE and by design, HE took away 6.6% of the vote, arguably, mostly from Cuccenilli.

Had Sarvis NOT been in the race, Cuccinelli would have WON that race and it’s not at all unlike what happened to Romney in 2012. If all those votes going to candidates B, C, D, and so on had gone to Romney, we wouldn’t have Obama to kick around anymore.

Was Romney the perfect fit for the Tea Party?

No but, while we wouldn’t have gotten everything we wanted with Mitt, we are now on the verge of losing everything we ever had with Barack.

So…Let’s learn a lesson from what we have seen thus proving we are not doomed to repeat history until our NATION is history but, let’s add a little something new to the mix.

THIS is where things start getting interesting.

First things first though.

We have a BOATLOAD of work to do in the next year with the looming 2014 midterm elections and right now is when we must…WE MUST…Hold the house and do everything we can to SHIFT the power in the senate.

Luckily for us, the Tea Party, we have Obamacare working for us…AGAIN!!!

And now, Obamacare isn’t just a socialist pipe dream. Now, it’s a sickening reality and, it what is an ironic twist for a law passed strictly on partisan votes…Obamacare has become VERY…BI-partisan.

IT’S A BIPARTISAN DISASTER!!!

Its insidious effects are being felt across party lines and the deeper the drill sinks, the more and more people are going to be hurt BY it…LIBERALS AND CONSERVATIVES ALIKE!!!

Back whatever house or senate candidate you want into the primary BUT…VOTE FOR WHATEVER HOUSE OR SENATE CANDIDATE APPEARS ON YOUR BALLOTS IN NOVEMBER OF 2014 REGARDLESS OF THEIR TEA PARTY CREDS AS LONG AS THEY HAVE AN “R” AFTER THEIR NAME.

Don’t go for the 3rd party OR write-in candidates because doing either will get a republican, RINO or otherwise…CUCCINELLIED on election night and we can’t afford it.

PERIOD.

Now then…ON TO 2016 AND FULL STEAM AHEAD with a whole new strategy!!!

As Tea Partiers…We have a reputation of being activists. We are sick and tired of the status quo.

AM I RIGHT PEOPLE???

So why run a presidential election the way it’s always been done just because that’s the way it’s always been done?

ARE WE NOT BETTER THAT THAT???

ARE WE NOT CAPABLE OF SHAKING UP THE SYSTEM???

Damn straight we are and here is how we do it.

Instead of going through the same ol’ process…Rather than putting 19 presidential candidates on the debate stages leading to the primaries…

LET’S GET OUR CRAP TOGETHER!!!

We will need to cooperation of candidates to make this work but…TEA PARTY CANDIDATES ARE WILLING TO DO WHAT’S BEST FOR THE PEOPLE so…

Here we go.

Rather than put up a CANDIDATE…WE NEED TO BUILD THE FULL TEAM!!!

Between now and the 2014 midterms…Pick the ticket.

Allen West? Ted Cruz? Ken Cuccenilli? Mike Lee?

Feel free to make substitutions but…

Here’s my pick…Cruz/Cuccenilli.

Settle down Allen West supporters…I LOVE that guy but, there is a method to my madness here.

Put either Cruz or Cuccenilli at the top of the ticket, I don’t care which. They’re BOTH rock solid.

Then…Have THEM start vetting for their CABINET Members.

Our military is in sorry shape and one of the BIGGEST issues are the rules of engagement. How do we WIN a war if the primary concern of the military is to win the hearts and minds of the enemy? We need a Secretary of Defense.

HELLO LTC ALLEN WEST!!!!!

Now…For the Sarah Palin supporters out there. I LOVE her too but…We need somebody who GETS it when it comes to becoming ENERGY INDEPENDENT…Right.

SARAH PALIN FOR SECRETARY OF ENERGY!!!

Drill baby drill.

Now then…One of the real flies in the ointment in 2012 was Ron Paul and while I don’t agree with his policies on the world stage…WHY NOT LET RON PAUL DO WHAT HE’S ALWAYS WANTED TO DO?

Put Ron Paul in charge of the FED and LET THE AUDIT BEGIN!!!!!

We’ve certainly seen the ugly side of the IRS recently and that Lois Lerner is a piece of criminal work so…We need someone who has made a life’s work of tax law to run the IRS starting in January of 2017.

MICHELE BACHMANN…COME ON DOWN!!!!!

HHS?

Anybody noticed any problems at HHS lately???

Dr. Ben Carson  You’re ON!!!

Secretary of Commerce…RAND PAUL…Mr. Constitutionalist.

Secretary of State – John Bolton because NOBODY messes with the mustache.

Now…Try THIS on for size…

Secretary of Commerce or the Treasury…Mitt Romney.

Offer FEMA to either Bobby Jindal or…Chris Christi.

Chairperson of the Council of Economic Advisers –  Newt Gingrich.

Administrator of the Small Business Administration –  Herman Cain.

Director of the Office of Management and Budget – Paul Ryan.

Homeland Security…Susanna Martinez, the current Governor of New Mexico.

Attorney General…Ken Paxton of Texas. Look him up…You’ll LOVE this guy.

Remember, these are just suggestions and they include some that I don’t even like but, there IS method to the madness and certain folks on the list will have to put their egos in check for the good of the Republic. If they choose not to, perhaps they’re not TRUE Conservatives.

Starting to get the idea here?

Instead of a pile of individual “one and only” candidates who can turn the country around, resembling a pack of monkeys getting busy with a bag of footballs…

Take all those “one and only” candidates that all bring SOMETHING to the table and build a winning TEAM of them from the word “GO!!!”

Think about it…

The night after the 2014 midterms…A nationally televised event… in a Tea Party packed arena …Open to questions from the press and out walks the head of the ticket stating “I’m (insert name here) and I am running for the office of President of the United States.”

Followed by…”I would like you to meet my running mate…(Insert name here) and we would like to introduce you to OUR nominees for the Cabinet!!!”

One by one…with a the Alan Parsons Project’s “Sirius” playing in the background…They all walk onto the stage.

Go ahead…Play it and one by one…Read the names listed above.

TELL me that doesn’t make every hair on your body stand up.

Then, when the crowd starts to settle…Live on stage…AVA ASTON!!!

You know all those hairs that were standing up?

NOW THEIR SALUTING!!!!!

Imagine a TEAM spread out on the campaign trail instead of a bunch of individual candidates…All on the same page…Each uniquely suited for their position and working TOGETHER to regain AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM.

WIN the 2014 midterms and then…The very next day…INTRODUCE THE 2016…TEA PARTY TEAM!!!!!

The GOP and RNC would have to either join us or flounder because, the money is going to follow the team.

It’s BOLD…It’s BRASH and it is a JUGGERNAUT…An overwhelming, advancing force that crushes or seems to crush everything in its path…And those who want war with us can get run over BY us or get on board WITH us, there’s room on our train for everybody but, make no mistake, this is NOT about unifying the PARTY…

THIS IS ABOUT UNITING THE VOTERS BY STANDING FOR SOMETHING INSTEAD OF ROLLING OVER ON EVERYTHING!!!

  1. We seem to be forgetting something: our Congress voted FOR and ENACTED this legislation. How did your Congressmen vote? Find out. Seems like there is blame enough for everyone Rs and Ds alike.

    • S. Haynes,

As the only legislation I single out in the article is Obamacare…The blame rest ONLY with the D’s. Not ONE SINGLE REPUBLICAN in either the house or the senate voted for Obamacare. Not one.

      Craig

  2. I think this is a fantastic and inspired plan. I’m not sure about all of the players, but the idea of a united “dream team” sounds perfect. My only question is have you contacted these people and let them in on the plan, too?

  3. Has great potential.
One definition of insanity is “when people keep ding the same thing the same way again & again – & expect to get different results”.
Obviously then to get different results things need to be done differently.
Right through history people follow leaders – that’s why there’s been chiefs, kings, queens, presidents etc
So yes, having a strong leadership team & running on strong Conservative values presents a formidable proposition – this is exactly what happened in the recent Australian elections.
The new Prime Minister Tony Abbott ran on Conservative values not pop culture – repeal of the Carbon Tax, less taxation, secure the borders – stopping illegal entry of boats filled with moslem welfare seekers, getting back to fundamental education – the 3 R’s. Was elected in a landslide – like him or hate him – everyone knew what he stood for & the team spoke with one voice – the Socialists got their worst result in more than 100 years.

I understand your choice of Allen West for Sec of Def & in itself is a wise choice.
However people need to understand that this is a WAR against an evil ideology that will stop at nothing – they are compulsive & pathological liars, completely amoral, nothing is too low for them to stoop to.
Perception is everything & the Democrap scum will exploit even the most minor weakness & blow it out of all proportion, therefore they must be starved of oxygen.
Ted Cruz’s American status will always be brought up & used against him – even if he fully qualifies as a US natural born citizen.
Cuccinelli has already lost one contest & will be perceived as a loser – it’s not fair as such, but that is the fact of the matter & will be played on to the utmost.
Remember, no amount of evil is beyond Democraps, it literally is a war between good vs evil.
Therefore Allen West is the best choice politically speaking – he has already shown that he is a leader in a war zone.
We all know how the Democraps pull out the race card when it comes to Obummer, doesn’t matter the issue, how will they pull the race card on Mr West – he is more black than that half-caste Kenyan?
The rest of the nominations are A-Okay except for Chris Christie.
That bloke is a hard core RINO & Incredible Hulk, just looking at his morbid obesity which people perceive as gluttony will put many people off, he is a real porker. He also thinks Islam is fine.
Ask Allen West what he thinks of Islam.

  4. I love it love it love it! I do however want to see DML on the list of names you put forth.

  5. Your ideas are just what we need; will someone please step up and do this??

I am 72 years old and have been involved in conservative causes since I was 26. Over and over we saw so many situations like this: 11 conservative candidates and one liberal running for the nomination for senate. Who got the nod? The liberal of course! Why have we conservatives done this? Split up the conservative vote!

From a mother of eleven patriots. (One was on staff for Bruce Herschensohn when he ran against Barbara Boxer years ago.)

  6. Fellow Patriots,
We are blessed to have a relatively wide range of candidates with proven integrity of character as well as courage in speaking out against members of both parties whose actions do not reflect their oath of office or allegiance to the Republic; however, of paramount importance is an ongoing track record of discernment, of wise decision-making, and of trail-blazing in strategizing how best to undercut the opposite while still taking the high road of righteousness. It is presumptuous to put names forward for this position or that position without a consensus of learned individuals, a Constitutional Congress of sorts, that has weighed each individual’s strengths and experience in these areas, looking at all those who have been faithful to the cause, before coming out with a random listing of “who’s who”. If you want people to unite, you must first organize and develop a united front at the top, involving all of the names put forward (by this author as well as commentators) as well as others who would have much to offer, such as Charles Krauthammer or Mark Levin. This is too important an issue to be decided haphazardly and without systemic unification and organization. Let’s get our ducks in a row and accomplish this mission with the utmost dedication to getting it done properly, and by that I mean, each should be willing to “mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our Sacred Honor” even as the Founders proclaimed, placing the final outcome in the hands of God Almighty.

  7. I have to admit I am partial to Trey Gowdy and Andrew Napolitano but how about Supreme Court Justices? Yeah, I like that.

  8. I love it! Finally something that offers hope! I am willing to do anything I can to help!
Not On Our Watch! We must take our country back.and stop this sinking into the depths of hell. In the meantime how do we stop the destruction? The partnering with radical Islamists? The betrayal and possible destruction of Israel?

  9. I fear we may have a repeat of the last election if the Republicans and Tea Party cannot stand together. If votes are split between the two, we lose to the Democrats from the beginning.

  10. Slogan … “Not On Our Watch!” This country won’t fail … we won’t let it. Not On Our Watch!

  11. The problem I see with this plan is giving the opposition such a target rich environment to attack. It’s bad enough with one target, the presidential candidate. It gets worse when you add the VP nominee. Besides the opposition targeting so many intendeds, the voter, who may vote for the presidential, and tolerate the vice presidential candidates, may very well abhor one of the pre-announced cabinet appointees. Now you need the voters to accept a whole host of people instead of weighing the truth and facts about one or two in front of them. Now you have to defend everyone instead of correcting the lies and spins on just two candidates.

Bad plan strategically, I think. Trying to get too many people passed at once. Pass the guy for President, and have him appoint everyone thereafter, without requiring a winning national vote on so many people simultaneously.

  12. Two thoughts come to mind (I’ve not read all the comments) 1) why is this a new idea – you should ALWAYS vote your party. Always vote R. 2) The tea Party was held back in 2012 because all their tax exempt requests were withheld at the IRS. We should not fractionalize the Republican party and the Tea party, but find a common unified front. I love all the cabinet nominees! How about Donald Trump for Secretary of Commerce;-)

  13. OK–A lot of you are saying that this is a great idea, “where do i sign-up” – What do i do?…Well, check this out…http://theprecinctproject.wordpress.com/
You have to be part of the party to get inside and push the primaries and help select the candidates and the platform. Now go pay the dues, sign-up and get to work, I am going to!!

  14. three thoughts:
    1. To those who think that Ted Cruz is not eligible, I have spent the last 6 months pouring over every ruling and the documents surrounding the Constitution, as well as the claims that he is ineligible, (and I was adamantly in that camp when I started),…there is nothing that makes him ineligible.
    2. Your idea for the 2014 election is terrible. We can have a major impact in the 2014 election by drafting, begging, or coercing challengers in every primary race and showing up in large numbers to vote for that challenger. If we do this in the primary, we can quite literally FIRE THEM ALL. (feel free to email me for more details at politics@YourVN.net ) This would put the entire next batch on notice that we are not going to tolerate it anymore. And I and my crew have talked to well over 100,000 people and have over 80% of democrats on board and over 90% of republicans when explained.
    3. Your idea for the 2016 election is excellent. I even like most of your choices….but Chris Christie does not belong on that list AT ALL. He is a radical Muslim loving RINO. I am a member of 17 TEA Party groups and do not know ONE who would vote for him for ANY position.

    • Jon,

      Wise up.

The position for Christie is not a policy making position and…It’s not about having the TEA PARTY vote for the guy…It’s about getting votes from the NON Tea Party that WILL vote for the TICKET because he’s ON it.

      Craig

  15. You cannot will away the ego’s and the money trail. Both things will perpetuate the destruction of America.

  16. HELL NO! The MESSAGE of Virginia is clear: WE DON’T LIKE these stinkin’ Republocrats. Can you hear us now? We don’t care what letter is after the name, what we care about is representatives who stand for limiting government and NOW. BOTH parties have consistently betrayed the American People and we are sick of it. That’s the message. Get it together IN THE PRIMARIES, Tea Partiers, then vote for the guy you agreed was your best shot. En masse. We have been defeated too many times by the establishment offering us four or five or more really good candidates in the primaries, effectively dilluting our voting voice and presenting the nomination to “their guy.” Enough! We see how this works – and they do it at every level of office, right down to the School Board. Republicans are not our friends. I hope you’ve figured that out by now.

  17. Great idea!
There is one BIG, problem though. It is not legal to announce a running mate, prior to receiving the nomination.
The biggest obstacle, is taming the egotistical personalities that run for the office of POTUS. They are a lot like rock and rap stars. How are you going to convince Christi, to hold a menial cabinet post, when he thinks he can be elected to pick the cabinet members?

    • Gil,

There is NO law stating when a candidate can name a running mate. The common PRACTICE is o do it shortly before the convention but…A candidate COULD do it whenever he or she chooses.

      Craig

  18. I listen to a prophetic guy and he’s been saying for several years now that the tea party will rise up by 2015. Good things are coming to America. God is not through with her yet!!!

  19. Wow. Just wow. Load both guns. Aim at feet. Pull trigger. Do you guys really want to hand the next presidency AND Congress to the democrats??? If you do, you have detailed a good plan here to accomplish that goal. This is the worst strategy I’ve heard in decades. Dukakis would have won against this strategy. McGovern would have won against this strategy!

Please please PLEASE, Tea Party, get your act together. If you continue to cater to only your fan base, the dems will have perpetual control of what it will be that was once America. 🙁

  20. Maybe there should first be an agreement on the message instead of the messengers. There are moderate and independent factions of the Republican Party who wholeheartedly agree with the basic tenets of the Tea Party but bail out of the GOP when they refuse to budge on social issues. That could go away if we focused on strong adherence to the 10th Amendment as part of our platform. “We believe those decisions are best made at the state level.” Boom, social issues gone. Even Supreme Court justices now realize Roe v. Wade should have been sent back to Texas because their ruling caused such a divide in this country that has continually gotten worse. I like your thought process but until people, including notable talk radio show hosts, stop bashing the ‘establishment GOP’ and harping on an apparent antagonistic relationship with the Tea Party we won’t have a chance in hell in ’14 or ’16. You’re right, we need to figure out a way to work together NOW, to make ours a positive message, a positive relatable story of personal liberty and justice for ALL, not just those you agree with. And we have to mean what we say with all of our heart.

  21. Rand Paul running as President and Ted Cruz as VP….. You want Rand as President because of his Constitutionalist positions. There is no other candidate who has as much applicable thought on a nation of laws. I say this, with respect, to others who also wish to serve as President. Put the interpretation of the Constitution first on your evaluation list. As for Christi? Leave ’em in ‘Jersey………

  22. Great idea! I already voted for Cruz as my Senator so I am 100% behinds him for President. We can vet these candidates out ahead of time and know we are getting Patriots who will follow the Constitution.

  23. Love the idea, and I would add sessions for the candidates to explain the ‘gotcha’ questions the main stream press-titutes are going to try. Provide lots of examples of good and not so good answers. We have had too many good candidates who’s answers were twisted and used against them by the press-titutes.

  24. I LOVE this idea. Would definitely prefer Jindal to Christie though…. The idea to put a whole ticket out there so there are no surprises and the matches were really well thought out. Big part will be to make sure a “third” part candidate would be a moot point. The in-fighting has got to go, that needs to be 1st on the agenda. But the idea is so brilliant in its simplicity.

  25. Cause you know….the republican establishment abandoned Cuccinelli and sabotaged his campaign. If they think they can do that without tea party retribution there wrong. If they think they can cut our guys below the knees helping the Democrats win while expecting we will just blindly vote for them no matter how close to the left they lean……they have got another thing coming.

Please make sure this plan of yours is implemented. I really want it to hhappen.

  26. You need to hold a summit with all these people pronto before asking us to commit to putting our time and dollars into helping to see that so many of them would be willing to run for election this way together. If they are than I’m all for it. Make Ken Cuccinelli the President. Otherwise it seems the only doable option for us in changing the character of the GOP is to let RINOs loose to democrats. Show them they can’t win without us….ever.

  27. This is by far THE BEST IDEA ever!! And may be our only hope.

I have emailed, tweeted and face booked it to a lot of folks and I ain’t done yet!

  28. I’m in. Sounds wonderful. It makes the most of the wonderful people we have and the presidential race would cease to be an issue of personality. Besides which, the media will find it harder to attack all of those people. Bravo! Good thinking. I’m a writer and would be glad to lend that skill to the cause. Let me know what I can do. dc

  29. I really like the plan but it will require a coordinated meeting of all those candidates mentioned and more, to be able to get the egos checked and see who will get on board with “Saving the Country, Team USA”….We would know very quickly from an into letter sent to each individual and the response thereto. I, for my time would be greatly interested in “focusing on the best interests of the COUNTRY and not the interests of any one man/woman. With a solid research base of things that need to be de-regulated, antiquated laws that need deletion, and POSITIVE steps that can be taken to get closer to our founding documents I believe the “sale-ability of this plan is a winner – for any and all those who believe that the Country needs to change course and the people need to be turned loose to accomplish what their creator intended for each of us..

  30. This is the best idea I have heard yet for presenting a united front which is THE ONLY WAY WE WILL WIN AN ELECTION!!! I am sick of how the left/liberals/rinos use the ignorance of conservatives about how elections really work!! It takes teamwork and this effort would present this strategy from the get-go. I like it. And please get off Chris Christy’s case. He could be a powerful weapon in OUR arsenal. Humans do not come from cookie cutters, all alike…our God makes us very uniquely and we need to learn to celebrate and encourage our uniqueness instead of trying to “squash” everyone who is different. What can I do to help??

  31. I have been saying the same thing to everyone that will listen (and to some I know won’t). It is nice to be able to vote one’s conscience and principles, but this is where we get beat by the libs. EVERYONE needs to keep the end game goal in mind for this next election. People who want to see Sibelius, Holder, And yes, even Obama held accountable need to work as hard as they can to get victories for the Republican Candidate in the general election. Without maintaining the House and taking the Senate, there will be no accountability for anything.

  32. I love this idea. Something for everyone. I think we can sell this.
If you watched Cruz on Leno last night, the greatest applause came when Cruz said the problem is with both sides. It’s Entrenched politicians vs. the American people. Also, Big Government only helps the 1% get richer.

  33. I love it! How do we sell it? Who all will go along with it? Will there be enough to make it valid? There is one person I can’t abide…and a few I’m not wild about. Maybe only one or two of those…but, Chris Christi? NO! Please! NO!

I’m behind you. I think this is a great idea! People coming together instead of all the bickering on stage making the party look confused. How do we make this work? What do we do?

  34. Wonderful plan!!! Finally, a plan that I could get behind, count me in! We are burnin day light, let’s get this project on the road!!

  35. These candidates would have to open their closets to see what skeletons might be hidden in the corner. You know that the investigations into the pasts of each one of them is going to look like locust decending upon a corn field. And any bombshells will NOT be dropped until a few months before the 2016 election. Giving the appearance of a fractured ticket.

    It could be fun.

  36. I’m ready! Where do I sign up to start the work??
This is a a plan that, if put into full force with the money backing & voters in line, could restore our country in one enormous victory!! “I do solemnly swear … PRESERVE, PROTECT AND DEFEND the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES…” Though I have not included the entire oath, I included the pieces that MUST be considered as part of the core of the TEAM!
I’m a bit concerned about Susana Martinez being a part of the list of cabinet nominees… She has NOT porven herself to be very good at seeing the truth behind lies and has NOT held to her promises… Might want to rethink that one…

  37. Like Ted Cruz I carry dual citizenship in Cnda and the United States. I like the proposal and really think it will work. So the American people you are ready to govern NOW. Also I like an idea that Bill Whittle metioned which is done overseas. Remove the early ballot provision, if you can’t spend a couple of hours every 4 years to vote you don’t deserve it, then when the voter finishes their ballot they dip their finger in indelible ink proving they have voted and at the same time making it nearly impossible to vote a second time. Good luck in 2014, you are going to need it. We in Canada of like mind are watching and praying for a good result. Although as an American I could vote in the US elections I don’t think it would be right since I no longer live there and haven’t for over 40 years.

  38. I love all your ideas, but would go for Jindal instead of Christi. Hope we can get everyone on board. We need to do this! Thank you.

  39. Find a Candidate who Believes, Will not bend for Political expediency, not compromise on Principles, embraces the Rich Heritage & History of magnificent Free People {Hello Freedom Man} and Walks the Walk every day as Representative of “We the People” Believe and resurrect with deeds this Speech and they Will win the Presidency of the United States————-President Reagan’s First Inaugural Address

    January 20, 1981

1980 ConventionSenator Hatfield, Mr. Chief Justice, Mr. President, Vice President Bush, Vice President Mondale, Senator Baker, Speaker O’Neill, Reverend Moomaw, and my fellow citizens: To a few of us here today, this is a solemn and most momentous occasion; and yet, in the history of our nation, it is a commonplace occurrence. The orderly transfer of authority as called for in the Constitution routinely takes place as it has for almost two centuries and few of us stop to think how unique we really are. In the eyes of many in the world, this every-4-year ceremony we accept as normal is nothing less than a miracle.

Mr. President, I want our fellow citizens to know how much you did to carry on this tradition. By your gracious cooperation in the transition process, you have shown a watching world that we are a united people pledged to maintaining a political system which guarantees individual liberty to a greater degree than any other, and I thank you and your people for all your help in maintaining the continuity which is the bulwark of our Republic.

The business of our nation goes forward. These United States are confronted with an economic affliction of great proportions. We suffer from the longest and one of the worst sustained inflations in our national history. It distorts our economic decisions, penalizes thrift, and crushes the struggling young and the fixed-income elderly alike. It threatens to shatter the lives of millions of our people.

Idle industries have cast workers into unemployment, causing human misery and personal indignity. Those who do work are denied a fair return for their labor by a tax system which penalizes successful achievement and keeps us from maintaining full productivity.

But great as our tax burden is, it has not kept pace with public spending. For decades, we have piled deficit upon deficit, mortgaging our future and our children’s future for the temporary convenience of the present. To continue this long trend is to guarantee tremendous social, cultural, political, and economic upheavals.

1981 OathYou and I, as individuals, can, by borrowing, live beyond our means, but for only a limited period of time. Why, then, should we think that collectively, as a nation, we are not bound by that same limitation?

We must act today in order to preserve tomorrow. And let there be no misunderstanding–we are going to begin to act, beginning today.

The economic ills we suffer have come upon us over several decades. They will not go away in days, weeks, or months, but they will go away. They will go away because we, as Americans, have the capacity now, as we have had in the past, to do whatever needs to be done to preserve this last and greatest bastion of freedom.

In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem.

From time to time, we have been tempted to believe that society has become too complex to be managed by self-rule, that government by an elite group is superior to government for, by, and of the people. But if no one among us is capable of governing himself, then who among us has the capacity to govern someone else? All of us together, in and out of government, must bear the burden. The solutions we seek must be equitable, with no one group singled out to pay a higher price.

We hear much of special interest groups. Our concern must be for a special interest group that has been too long neglected. It knows no sectional boundaries or ethnic and racial divisions, and it crosses political party lines. It is made up of men and women who raise our food, patrol our streets, man our mines and our factories, teach our children, keep our homes, and heal us when we are sick–professionals, industrialists, shopkeepers, clerks, cabbies, and truck drivers. They are, in short, “We the people,” this breed called Americans.

Well, this administration’s objective will be a healthy, vigorous, growing economy that provides equal opportunity for all Americans, with no barriers born of bigotry or discrimination. Putting America back to work means putting all Americans back to work. Ending inflation means freeing all Americans from the terror of runaway living costs. All must share in the productive work of this “new beginning” and all must share in the bounty of a revived economy. With the idealism and fair play which are the core of our system and our strength, we can have a strong and prosperous America at peace with itself and the world.

So, as we begin, let us take inventory. We are a nation that has a government–not the other way around. And this makes us special among the nations of the Earth. Our government has no power except that granted it by the people. It is time to check and reverse the growth of government which shows signs of having grown beyond the consent of the governed.

1981 OathIt is my intention to curb the size and influence of the Federal establishment and to demand recognition of the distinction between the powers granted to the Federal Government and those reserved to the States or to the people. All of us need to be reminded that the Federal Government did not create the States; the States created the Federal Government.

Now, so there will be no misunderstanding, it is not my intention to do away with government. It is, rather, to make it work–work with us, not over us; to stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it.

If we look to the answer as to why, for so many years, we achieved so much, prospered as no other people on Earth, it was because here, in this land, we unleashed the energy and individual genius of man to a greater extent than has ever been done before. Freedom and the dignity of the individual have been more available and assured here than in any other place on Earth. The price for this freedom at times has been high, but we have never been unwilling to pay that price.

It is no coincidence that our present troubles parallel and are proportionate to the intervention and intrusion in our lives that result from unnecessary and excessive growth of government. It is time for us to realize that we are too great a nation to limit ourselves to small dreams. We are not, as some would have us believe, doomed to an inevitable decline. I do not believe in a fate that will fall on us no matter what we do. I do believe in a fate that will fall on us if we do nothing. So, with all the creative energy at our command, let us begin an era of national renewal. Let us renew our determination, our courage, and our strength. And let us renew our faith and our hope.

We have every right to dream heroic dreams. Those who say that we are in a time when there are no heroes just don’t know where to look. You can see heroes every day going in and out of factory gates. Others, a handful in number, produce enough food to feed all of us and then the world beyond. You meet heroes across a counter–and they are on both sides of that counter. There are entrepreneurs with faith in themselves and faith in an idea who create new jobs, new wealth and opportunity. They are individuals and families whose taxes support the government and whose voluntary gifts support church, charity, culture, art, and education. Their patriotism is quiet but deep. Their values sustain our national life.

I have used the words “they” and “their” in speaking of these heroes. I could say “you” and “your” because I am addressing the heroes of whom I speak–you, the citizens of this blessed land. Your dreams, your hopes, your goals are going to be the dreams, the hopes, and the goals of this administration, so help me God.

We shall reflect the compassion that is so much a part of your makeup. How can we love our country and not love our countrymen, and loving them, reach out a hand when they fall, heal them when they are sick, and provide opportunities to make them self-sufficient so they will be equal in fact and not just in theory?

Can we solve the problems confronting us? Well, the answer is an unequivocal and emphatic “yes.” To paraphrase Winston Churchill, I did not take the oath I have just taken with the intention of presiding over the dissolution of the world’s strongest economy.

In the days ahead I will propose removing the roadblocks that have slowed our economy and reduced productivity. Steps will be taken aimed at restoring the balance between the various levels of government. Progress may be slow–measured in inches and feet, not miles–but we will progress. It is time to reawaken this industrial giant, to get government back within its means, and to lighten our punitive tax burden. And these will be our first priorities, and on these principles, there will be no compromise.

On the eve of our struggle for independence a man who might have been one of the greatest among the Founding Fathers, Dr. Joseph Warren, President of the Massachusetts Congress, said to his fellow Americans, “Our country is in danger, but not to be despaired of…. On you depend the fortunes of America. You are to decide the important questions upon which rests the happiness and the liberty of millions yet unborn. Act worthy of yourselves.”

Well, I believe we, the Americans of today, are ready to act worthy of ourselves, ready to do what must be done to ensure happiness and liberty for ourselves, our children and our children’s children.

And as we renew ourselves here in our own land, we will be seen as having greater strength throughout the world. We will again be the exemplar of freedom and a beacon of hope for those who do not now have freedom.

To those neighbors and allies who share our freedom, we will strengthen our historic ties and assure them of our support and firm commitment. We will match loyalty with loyalty. We will strive for mutually beneficial relations. We will not use our friendship to impose on their sovereignty, for our own sovereignty is not for sale.

As for the enemies of freedom, those who are potential adversaries, they will be reminded that peace is the highest aspiration of the American people. We will negotiate for it, sacrifice for it; we will not surrender for it–now or ever.

Our forbearance should never be misunderstood. Our reluctance for conflict should not be misjudged as a failure of will. When action is required to preserve our national security, we will act. We will maintain sufficient strength to prevail if need be, knowing that if we do so we have the best chance of never having to use that strength.

Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today’s world do not have. It is a weapon that we as Americans do have. Let that be understood by those who practice terrorism and prey upon their neighbors.

I am told that tens of thousands of prayer meetings are being held on this day, and for that I am deeply grateful. We are a nation under God, and I believe God intended for us to be free. It would be fitting and good, I think, if on each Inauguration Day in future years it should be declared a day of prayer.

This is the first time in history that this ceremony has been held, as you have been told, on this West Front of the Capitol. Standing here, one faces a magnificent vista, opening up on this city’s special beauty and history. At the end of this open mall are those shrines to the giants on whose shoulders we stand.

Directly in front of me, the monument to a monumental man: George Washington, father of our country. A man of humility who came to greatness reluctantly. He led America out of revolutionary victory into infant nationhood. Off to one side, the stately memorial to Thomas Jefferson. The Declaration of Independence flames with his eloquence.

And then beyond the Reflecting Pool the dignified columns of the Lincoln Memorial. Whoever would understand in his heart the meaning of America will find it in the life of Abraham Lincoln.

Beyond those monuments to heroism is the Potomac River, and on the far shore the sloping hills of Arlington National Cemetery with its row on row of simple white markers bearing crosses or Stars of David. They add up to only a tiny fraction of the price that has been paid for our freedom.

Each one of those markers is a monument to the kinds of hero I spoke of earlier. Their lives ended in places called Belleau Wood, The Argonne, Omaha Beach, Salerno and halfway around the world on Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Pork Chop Hill, the Chosin Reservoir, and in a hundred rice paddies and jungles of a place called Vietnam.

Under one such marker lies a young man–Martin Treptow–who left his job in a small town barbershop in 1917 to go to France with the famed Rainbow Division. There, on the western front, he was killed trying to carry a message between battalions under heavy artillery fire.

We are told that on his body was found a diary. On the flyleaf under the heading, “My Pledge,” he had written these words: “America must win this war. Therefore, I will work, I will save, I will sacrifice, I will endure, I will fight cheerfully and do my utmost, as if the issue of the whole struggle depended on me alone.”

The crisis we are facing today does not require of us the kind of sacrifice that Martin Treptow and so many thousands of others were called upon to make. It does require, however, our best effort, and our willingness to believe in ourselves and to believe in our capacity to perform great deeds; to believe that together, with God’s help, we can and will resolve the problems which now confront us.

And, after all, why shouldn’t we believe that? We are Americans. God bless you, and thank you.

  40. Then have Sen. Lee put in as Senate Majority Leader, since I didn’t see his name on the cabinet, with a tea party favorite as Speaker of the House.. maybe even my Rep Raul Labrador.. we need to ensure that when the presidency is taken back by a conservative that we have both the House and Senate securely in CONSERVATIVE hands!!

  41. I hate to say it but Obama & the Dems, their 2012 election strategy, their control of the MSM and low-info voters – it’s all been genius. It’s just so sly, scheming and unpatriotic that it makes me sick. It will absolutely take an organized, extremely smart strategy to regain control in 2016. I love this!! Honest, up front and in your face. Hehehe…

  42. Well, I have felt that a more organized effort was needed but I didn’t know how anyone was going to put the pieces together. Your’s is the first I have seen and I like all of your candidates but I have to note a few things. Michelle Bachman always riles up the opposition and brings out a fierce campaign against herself and Sara Palin is somewhat the same way. I might try to find alternatives for them. Ted Cruz…whatever is legal and I did not think he was eligible to be president. If he is eligible then the proof must be iron clad so the opposition cannot beat the drums over it. Good Luck.

    • Byron,

Instead of giving the libs 1 to shoot down at a time…OVERWHELM them with 20 at once and let em go broke trying to run ads against ALL of them!

  43. Conservatives MUST unite or forever give over the rule of our country to the Lying, over-spending Liberals! The other thing I believe the Republican Party MUST do, is remind minority groups exactly what the Republican Party has done for them and their families, ie., fought for their freedom, equality, and integration (which gave them access to higher quality education), and equal opportunities in the workplace, while at the same time reminding them that the Democratic Party was vehemently opposed to all of the above–and they formed the KKK!

  44. Like this idea, and lineup, but how do we pick our candidate? A lot of ego’s but those who are patriots will do what is best for America. A lot of question’s to work out but I think this could be made to work. The main stream media would have a cow, witch would be good a lot of free media, they would also be laying in the weeds looking to ambush any of the candidates for any perceived misstep for two years.

  45. This is a GREAT idea! It’s time we coalesced and while remaining independent of each other, having a common understanding that we can’t be forming circular firing squads while the collectivists circle their wagons around one guy or gal. I like it.

  46. I think this is an awesome concept and would do what I could to help. But, I think that voter fraud needs to be addressed and find some way to at least minimize it…

  47. I think this is the greatest idea yet. I am on board and I am spreading the word to every Republican I know, starting with my home page. Thank you, Thank you for doing the brilliant thinking for me.

  48. For everyone who wants Ted Cruz anywhere on the ticket…he was born in Canada! He Can’t be president; certainly not after all the birth certificate furor the Right raised over President Obama. If you want him as a Cabinet member, fine. Make him Attorney General, or put him on the Supreme Court, if you can. But stop trying to make him president.

  49. It would be great if Freedom Works & Heritage Foundation would get behind such strategy.

  50. STILL SCRATCHING MY HEAD….but I have plans to run for mayor, so OK I’ll bite, but REMEMBER the Natural Born Citizen clause IS NOT UP FOR DEBATE….Therefore, Alan West would have to be my bet. The rest of the cabinet crew takes some evaluating 😉

  51. That gave me chill bumps!!!!

Only one that didn’t was Chris Christi, he’s too in the middle for me. I’m a Louisiana girl, and I love Jindal, I wouldn’t want to see him go.
