Where liberty is concerned, America has a moral directive to help emerging nations and movements to achieve it.
That’s who we are.
It’s what we are.
But an internal struggle for power, where no liberty is in the offing regardless of which side is ultimately seated?
That is none of our damned business.
Syria, as it has been, under Assad, is a threat to our allies in the region.
Syria as it would be, under Islamic radicalism at the hands of those who would replace Assad…al Qaeda…The Muslim Brotherhood…Ansar al-Sharia…would STILL be a threat to our allies in the region.
While we can and should offer humanitarian assistance to those displaced by the civil war in Syria, where we can and to the extent that we can…Getting involved in the fight, via arms shipments to the “rebels,” is a foolish thing indeed.
There is no moral high ground there.
Arming the “rebels” who are al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations, with who we are currently at war in other theaters, is treason and…
Treason is NOT a moral high ground.
If you follow humanitarian reports from Syria, BOTH sides in this civil war are committing atrocities.
Arming one side committing atrocities against the other side…ALSO committing atrocities…Is NOT a moral high ground.
Russia and Iran are backing Assad.
TERRORISTS are fighting AGAINST Assad.
ALL of them want Israel gone and NONE of them favor Jordan or Turkey.
Not one of our allies in the region will be better off regardless of who wins the Syrian civil war.
No moral high ground.
Part of the plan, if you can call it a plan, for Syria has U.S. personnel training Syrian “security” forces. As that has directly lead to the murders OF American personnel in both Afghanistan and Iraq…
Where’s the moral high ground?
THERE IS NO MORAL HIGH GROUND!!
So why are we doing this? Why are we arming Syrian rebels?
Because it worked out so well for us in Libya?
Clearly not but, don’t be so fast to dismiss the Libyan connection.
It seems almost certain, now more than 9 months after the attacks in Benghazi, that some sort of arms deal was afoot there. Was Ambassador Stevens and the CIA transferring arms, from Libyan “rebels” to Syrian “rebels” via the Turks from our Benghazi Consulate?
It hasn’t been presented under oath…YET…but sometimes, the cool exterior doesn’t hold up as well as one would hope.
For instance…Remember when Rand Paul was questioning Hillary in that senate hearing?
He asked a question and stumbled over his intended words. The reaction from Hillary and her response was…telling.
What Paul SHOULD have asked was, “Are we engaged in shipping arms to SYRIA…VIA Turkey…From Libya but, Hillary’s stunned silence and near palatable sense of relief, once she processed the EXACT words of the question as asked by Rand Paul, was very noticeable.
IF, and I believe we WERE, arming the Syrian “rebels” from Benghazi through Turkey, the reason for now ANNOUNCING the arming of Syrian “rebels” is not a NEW policy of this obtuse administration…It is the CONTINUATION of an INTERRUPTED…COVERT policy.
Why was it a covert op to begin with?
Because, Obama KNEW it was WRONG to arm our enemy in a time of war and arming “rebels” directly linked to al Qaeda is treason.
Then…Why bring it out of the covert closet?
Because the idea of more Benghazi whistle-blowers is scaring the HELL out of him and he believes that, if he announces the arming of Syrian “rebels” and nobody in any position of authority yells TREASON…he will not only get away with it NOW but can THEN claim that “Americans agree with me,” as well as dismiss any whistle-blowers to come.
He’s not looking for moral high ground…He’s just trying to cover his ass.
Why NOW?
Because, and it’s just a well educated guess, those Syrian “rebels” who WERE getting or about to get weapons via the Turks from Benghazi just might be ready to blow the whistle THEMSELVES if the contract, covert or not, goes unfulfilled.
The PRESS is turning on him TOO. You know…the former keepers of all Obama’s secrets? Spying on the press has consequences and it was, after all, the press that arrived in Benghazi 3 weeks ahead of the FBI.
Makes ya wonder what THEY picked up off the floor of the Consulate…Doesn’t it???
And…Let’s not forget the Turks.
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, would act as the intermediary in a covert arms deal if there wasn’t something in it for them. Not on that scale and not in that capacity. No way.
Therefore, the Turks were going to get SOMETHING and, when the whole covert op went up in Benghazi smoke, suddenly…guess who was left out in the cold.
Just 1 month ago…Who WAS that standing in the rain while Marines held umbrellas with our Dictator?
Well, that was the TURKISH PRIME MINISTER who ALSO met with our NEW Secretary of State, John Kerry.
And then, in the 1st week of June…RIOTS in Turkey.
Hmmmmm…All of a sudden, we’re arming Syrian “rebels.”
Be on the lookout for some sort of…”assistance” for Turkey to make up for what they didn’t get for the covert arms deal.
And finally, how did our Dictator make this grand announcement regarding arming Syrian “rebels?”
Well…HE didn’t.
The empty chair had some serf come out of a windowless basement room and do it FOR him. The announcement was made by Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes.
So far, Obama has said virtually NOTHING about it. NOTHING regarding why this is a good idea. NOTHING about HIS decision.
No explanation. No reasoning. Nothing except to tell Charlie Rose, “Now, on the other side there are folks who say, you know, ‘We are so scarred from Iraq. We should have learned our lesson. We should not have anything to do with it.’ Well, I reject that view as well because the fact of the matter is that we’ve got serious interests there. And not only humanitarian interests; we can’t have the situation of ongoing chaos in a major country that borders a country like Jordan which in turn borders Israel. And we have a legitimate need to be engaged and to be involved.”
Huh?
Because the chaos borders Jordan which borders Israel?
Because we have “legitimate” needs to be involved?
WHAT “legit” needs?
Perhaps THIS further explanation will clear it up: “What I’m saying is, that if you haven’t been in the Situation Room… Unless you’ve been involved in those conversations, then it’s kind of hard for you to understand the complexity of the situation and how we have to not rush into one more war in the Middle East.”
Oh…I see.
He WOULD explain it BUT…It’s just too complex to be understood by mere mortals.
Is that why Obama left the Situation room just 20 minutes into the Benghazi attacks?
Too complex???
This…From a sausage to whom the number of states in our nation is too complex to articulate.
Maybe that’s why we aren’t allowed to read his college thesis or see his college transcripts. Perhaps it’s why we aren’t allowed to see his REAL Birth certificate.

I have wondered if since they were ALREADY arming rebels in Libya and probably Syria too, that this would explain how they got those weapons. In other words, they already HAVE them and this covers up what we were really doing in Libya. And now they can give them even MORE weapons and it will all be legit. Well, except for the TREASON part!
I hear rumors that Obama will take in refugees from Syria as a humanitarian move too. More people in the already sinking boat, and more Dbag voters. Not to mention, future terrorists…
More treason with the proposed talks with the taliban another terrorist group. When will they wake up and impeach this clown?
This Islamic community organizer has been appeasing and supporting Islamic terrorists since he stole the Oval office. Maybe this is payback for a lot of those illegal foreign campaign contributions he gets and hides. Everything he’s done has been a lie or criminal since ’08. From forgery to treason, he knows no bounds in what he does. He, along with those supporting and aiding his criminal activities need to be charged, prosecuted and imprisoned for the maximum terms.
