Obama on Solyndra…Not Whisker of Truth

My, oh my, but aren’t liberals enlightened? Aren’t they intellectual?

The liberal’s new favorite adverb is…

Per se.

Liberals are SO enlightened and SO intellectual that they, at the drop of a hat, now speak Latin.

Joe Biden…an intellectual giant if ever one existed, stated last December that, “the Taliban per se is not our enemy.” Of course, that non, “per se” enemy is the very non “per se” enemy who have been raising all sorts of hell and has recently murdered 6 U.S. soldiers over burned Korans.

Now, as of yesterday, Obama jumped in.

“Obviously, we wish Solyndra hadn’t gone bankrupt. Part of the reason they did was because the Chinese were subsidizing their solar industry and flooding the market in ways that Solyndra couldn’t compete. But understand: This was not our program, per se. Congress — Democrats and Republicans — put together a loan guarantee program because they understood historically that when you get new industries, it’s easy to raise money for startups, but if you want to take them to scale, oftentimes there’s a lot of risk involved, and what the loan guarantee program was designed to do was to help start up companies get to scale.”

One can only suspect that the same reality of our “per se not” our enemy can easily be applied to “not our program, per se.”

per se [pur sey, see, per] adverb: by, of, for, or in itself; intrinsically: Latin

In making this statement, Obama is being no more truthful than was Biden when HE evoked the ever-so-popular Latin phrase.

Liberals will quickly point out that Solyndra was, in fact, a “loan” program initiated by the Bush administration. It was and of that there can be no question however, to leave it at that, ignores reality.

It would ignore the FACT that in the final weeks OF the Bush administration, Solyndra was red flagged. It was red flagged because it was determined that it was a bad risk. It was impractical. It was a money loser and Solyndra was not capable of producing product and selling it at a profit.

The Bush administration red flagged Solyndra.

Nearly as soon as Obama occupied the oval office, HIS administration resurrected the Solyndra “loan” and the Obama administration put it on the fast track. It was the Obama administration which GRANTED the very “loan” which the Bush administration red flagged.

It was THEN the Obama administration which, in the days before Solyndra went under, reorganized the “loan” in such a way that should Solyndra go bankrupt, their PRIVATE investors would reap whatever monies available BEFORE the American taxpayers would.

It was, of course, the American taxpayers who, under the sole direction of the Obama administration, supplied more than a half BILLION dollars to a solar company which had, IN FACT, been deemed too great a risk to subsidize by the BUSH administration.

Liberals will also quickly point out that the stimulus bill, in which the $535 million dollar Solyndra subsidy was included was a bipartisan bill.

Oh really?

That stimulus bill passed the house with not a single republican voting in its favor. Not one. Absolute zero.

It passed the senate with only 3 republicans voting for it. One, Olympia Snow is widely seen as the…THE most liberal republican in the senate. The second republican to vote in favor of the stimulus bill containing the Solyndra “loan” was Susan Collins who, in fact, gives Snow a run for her money, and apparently ours, in the liberal republican manifestation.

The third republican senator to vote in favor of the Solyndra containing stimulus bill comes with an asterisk which, as is “per se” Latin (*; Late Latin: asteriscus, from Greek: ἀστερίσκος, asteriskos, “little star”)

Arlen Specter* who, shortly after voting in favor of the stimulus package, switched uniforms and dumped the republican party to become a democrat.

If, one supposes, 2 liberals with an ® on their name plates and 1 with an (*) on his constitutes bipartisanism, then upon anything Joe Lieberman alone votes with the republicans is also “bipartisan.”

Reality shines a different light on things, doesn’t it?

There is, of course, more to this than the bandying about of Latin. Perhaps Obama should give consideration to the growth of a mustache. Were he to sprout one, we would no longer be able to accurately define him as a liar of the bald faced variety.

In his statement, Obama lays the blame for the downfall of Solyndra, in part, at the feet of republicans and China. “…because the Chinese were subsidizing their solar industry and flooding the market in ways that Solyndra couldn’t compete.” Naturally, Obama’s plan is to out socialist the communists.

Brilliant.

For liberals who have for years proclaimed that anything Bush and his administration did was but pure to the bone stupid and anything Obama and his administration has done is but pure to the bone genius, Stupid old dumb as a stump George W. Bush was genius enough to realize Solyndra was a bad risk and worthy of being red flagged while the genius incarnate Obama was stump stupid enough to hand Solyndra $535 million dollars.

Obama also, in his statement, provides some insight into the liberal ideology. “…historically that when you get new industries, it’s easy to raise money for startups, but if you want to take them to scale, oftentimes there’s a lot of risk involved, and what the loan guarantee program was designed to do was to help start up companies get to scale.”

Liberal ideology on display…Only with government assistance, can a company “get to scale.” What Obama believes is crystal clear. He believes that private money is fine for starting a business but only government subsidies can make a company successful.

Notice, when Obama raves about the auto industry, he raves about Chrysler and Government Motors. Ford, which didn’t take a penny of “government money” and remains an American success story is, at best, an afterthought.

Obama wants to tax the hell out of the oil companies and demonizes them daily. On the other hand, he praises wind, solar and algae power. Liberals in general show great disdain for oil subsidies and pine for green energy.

The fact is, green energy has been subsidized to the tune of 1000x the rate of oil companies per kilowatt hour of energy produced.

Liberals would take a step closer to the truth if they would simply shut the hell up.

Solyndra is a disaster solely of Obama’s making and any attempt to alter that truth through the use of Latin or by lame attempts to assess blame on any but himself is a lie unimpeded by a single whisker.

  1. An outstanding share! I’ve just forwarded this onto a friend who had been conducting a little research on this. And he in fact bought me breakfast simply because I stumbled upon it for him… lol. So allow me to reword this…. Thank YOU for the meal!! But yeah, thanx for spending some time to discuss this issue here on your website.

  2. Very interesting discussion. However, and unfortunately the Republican candidates suggestions are even worse.. So yet again, what is one to do relying on Our Current Politicians to lead us out of this economic, enslaved mess?? A mess that has been carefully planned of 50 years of our puppet political leaders guided by Big Business..

So, yes are we going to continue the Blame Game, or are we going to do what is right for We the Little People. Please note us of little to distinguish the use of Corporate as People.

I believe, and know the constitution.. But don’t feel it should be attached to any political affiliation.
