Marines vs Dead Taliban. Guess Who Wins the Pissing Contest?

Okay. So some Marines got caught on video, peeing on the corpses of dead Taliban soldiers.

Okay.

I mean…Okay.

Was it the right thing to do? The moral thing to do?

No.

Should pundits, journalists and others be all wound up over it?

No.

Those who have a problem with it, a real problem, have probably never been shot at by the Taliban. They probably have never  had their friends killed by the Taliban and they probably haven’t had friends permanently disabled by the Taliban either.

Allen West had this to say, in The Weekly Standard, on the matter and as a man who spent 22 years in the Army, I believe he knows exactly what he’s talking about.

“I have sat back and assessed the incident with the video of our Marines urinating on Taliban corpses. I do not recall any self-righteous indignation when our Delta snipers Shugart and Gordon had their bodies dragged through Mogadishu. Neither do I recall media outrage and condemnation of our Blackwater security contractors being killed, their bodies burned, and hung from a bridge in Fallujah.

“All these over-emotional pundits and armchair quarterbacks need to chill. Does anyone remember the two Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division who were beheaded and gutted in Iraq?

“The Marines were wrong. Give them a maximum punishment under field grade level Article 15 (non-judicial punishment), place a General Officer level letter of reprimand in their personnel file, and have them in full dress uniform stand before their Battalion, each personally apologize to God, Country, and Corps videotaped and conclude by singing the full US Marine Corps Hymn without a teleprompter.

“As for everyone else, unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth, war is hell.”

Was this event against the rules of engagement? Probably and Allen West once turned HIMSELF in for a violation of those rules.

He’s been there and he knows the score.

Over the last few days, we’ve heard from bloggers and “journalists” from the left that believe these Marines have committed the most atrocious crime in the history of warfare.

Piss on em.

We know the Obama administration is trying to hold “Talks” with the Taliban. Joe Biden said just a couple of weeks ago that the Taliban is not our enemy…”per se.”

Bullcrap.

Obama is trying to appease the Taliban and hasten our departure from Afghanistan. He’s offering an olive branch to the very people who are shooting at, wounding, blowing up and killing our men and women in the armed forces. If they’re not the enemy, “per se” I for one would like to know what they are!

Obama is the one who made sure bin Laden had a proper Muslin send off and he’s now trying to implement the Ron Paul “Offer them friendship” strategy to a group bent on the destruction of the west and our allies.

Somebody should have taken a leak on bin Laden when the opportunity was at hand.

There will be those who say I stand too much for our service men and women and support their criminal behavior over this incident.

Piss on them too.

There will be those who say these actions by these Marines are going to make it more dangerous for the rest of our military who are still in theater.

Really?

MORE dangerous?

More dangerous than WHAT exactly? More dangerous then driving over an IED? More dangerous than being shot at by enemy snipers? More dangerous than not being able to tell who the enemy is because they don’t wear uniforms and hide behind women and children?

Allen West said, “War is hell. Guess what? It’s dangerous too. We wear a uniform and we wear our national identification, along with our hearts on our sleeves. It’s called the American flag. Our men and women are willing to fight and die to protect what that flag protects.

Were these dead Taliban fighters tortured? Beheaded? Dragged through the streets or hung from bridges?

No.

After they were dead, they got peed on.

Was it proper and moral? No. Does it rise to the level of a war crime? Hardly. Should a clear message, above the advice provided by Allen West, be sent to any and all service members who are contemplating such an action in the future?

Yes.

Don’t video tape it and just be secure in the knowledge that you have employed your 1st amendment rights to self expression.

  1. When did the Geneva Covention Articles of War change ? I was taught and and taught others that if you ere caught in in combet and not in uniform you could be executed on the spot as a spy . Urinating on Taliban corpses was a dumb thing to do and violates military code inregard to treatment of prisoners and they may be subject to Article 15 . What these Islamic barbarians have done to American soldiers and civilians should be considered when judging these Marines .

  2. Judging by Obama, Hillary, and the liberal response they are obviously suffering from a classic case of PENIS ENVY.

  3. Col. West is right on. If these Marines are guilty of anything it’s stupidity. Piss on the enemy, just don’t photograph it. Ask yourself, if Sgt. John Basilone had pissed on a dead Jap on Guadacanal, and that picture made public, would it have been a big deal? I think not!
