ALL Tea Partiers MUST hold Beck Accountable

It’s funny to me how liberals cherry pick. For years, we’ve listened to liberals slam Glenn Beck. They have gone after him with  fervor and Media Matters made it their singular focus to damn him each and every day.

Personally, I was excoriated by liberals telling me that I never disagreed with Glen Beck and I never would. To them, I always replied, “When Beck says something I disagree with, I’ll be strong in my disagreement.

Today is that day.

A couple days ago, Beck made a comment with which I have a great deal of disagreement. Of course, the hypocrites on the left have now cherry picked this statement and have, over the weekend, thanks to the video going viral, made Beck their Champion.

Here is that video.

So…if one chooses Mr. Gingrich over Obama, that person MUST be a racist?

Sorry Beck…You are DEAD WRONG.

I, personally, have never care a bit about a person’s skin color. I haven’t cared when making my friends. I never cared during my dating days back in college. I haven’t cared regarding those whom I have chosen to follow in sports, entertainment or any other medium. I certainly don’t give a rat’s behind about race when it came to politics either.

You can go back to my friends from grade school through present day and you won’t find any who have ever seen me show a racial preference and you won’t find any who have heard me use racially charged language.

You can go back through all my social media posts and comments and you won’t find a lick of racial hatred there either.

Do I like Obama?

Not even a little.

Is it because of his skin color.

Not even a little.

If it was, why then would I stand so steadfastly with Congressman Allen West? Why would I laud the virtues of Bobby Jindal? Why would I hold in such high regard Condaleeza Rice?

Now, I never cared for J.C. Watts…as a FOOTBALL PLAYER because he used to beat Nebraska all the time. As a member of Congress? Loved the guy. Did race play a role in that?

I never care for Mark Harman either and for the exact same reason as J.C. Watts. Harman, when playing for UCLA, brought Nebraska’s undefeated streak to an end. I couldn’t STAND the guy. As an actor however…LOVE the guy.

YOU decide if race plays any part in those examples.

Back to Beck’s stupid statement and liberal cherry picking.

A liberal wrote THIS comment on a conservative friend’s post yesterday:

“If you have a conservative in Glen Beck who openly admits the racial bias of the Tea Party then the initial claim must have been true that many TP members have a racist mentality just sayin'”-Will Hare II;

Wrong but, nice try.

While there are racists scattered throughout society, I believe they are a dying breed, and while there may well be a few in the Tea Party who exhibit these tendencies, they are shunned by the vast majority of the Tea Party and clearly do not hold sway over the Tea Party.

If you’re looking for racism in political circles, history is replete with examples of it in the Democrat party from the days of slavery to today.

IF the Tea Party is a group of racists, why then where more Republicans who happen to be black elected in 2010 than ever before? How did Tim Scott win? Allen West? Look around the country from state houses to governorships to the halls of Congress and tell me, if the Tea Party is racist, why then are there NOW so many people who need a lesser degree of sun block sitting in elective office with an “R” after their name?

The Tea Party isn’t interested in getting the WHITE people elected, we’re interested in getting the RIGHT people elected.

We can disagree as to which GOP candidate can beat Obama or even win the nomination but to suggest that those who favor, at this point Mr. Gingrich do so because of race?

Beck is dead wrong.

Gingrich balanced the budget for 4 straight years. He didn’t do that because he was white but because he was right. Gingrich brought about the conservative revolution in 1994. Not because he was white but because he was right. Gingrich authored the Contract With America and brought all 10 points to a vote in the House in the first 100 days. He did this not because he was white but because he was right.

Are there some things, policies on which I believe Gingrich was wrong? Yes. His initial stand on an individual mandate. Not because he was white but because he was not right. His initial take on global warming? Didn’t like it a bit. Not because he was white but because he was not right.

I believe Gingrich has changed on those issues and policies on which he was not right and I also believe a lot will depend on with whom he surrounds himself ,and I believe he will make right, not white, decisions regarding those people.

If the Tea Party has a racist mindset, why then are Tea Party faithful against Bill and or Hillary Clinton? Why are Tea Partiers against Harry Reid? Against Nancy Pelosi? Debbie Wasserman Shultz?

Yes, the Tea Party doesn’t have much use for Maxine Waters or Andre Carson or Jesse Jackson Jr. or Charlie Rangel – but for the same reasons we don’t have much use for Reid, Pelosi or Shultz. It is NOT because the latter are not WHITE…It’s because like the former, they’re not RIGHT.

It’s about ISSUES and where those elected to office stand on those issues and whether or not we think they are right on those issues.

For those who support a candidate other than Mr. Gingrich, Beck’s comment is as much about you as Gingrich supporters.

Notice in the Will Hare II comment how he doesn’t mention Gingrich at all.

“If you have a conservative in Glen Beck who openly admits the racial bias of the Tea Party then the initial claim must have been true that many TP members have a racist mentality just sayin’.”

He, and I contend liberals at large, will spin the Beck statement in this way to reflect on ALL Tea Party faithful.

What, in fact, Beck did, whether or not he meant to, was provide liberals with a brand new talking point to be leveled against ANY Tea Party Member and that is why, regardless of the candidate ANY Tea Party Member supports at this point, the Beck statement must be battled.

It’s a false statement directed toward Gingrich supporters AND, because of liberal spin, a false statement which is and will be held against ALL the Tea Party.

I have very little use for those who ascribe to racism nor do I hold in high regard, those who attempt to insert race into an issue falsely. Beck played a race card where it had no basis in reality and in doing so, in the mindset of liberals, made his hand, the hand of all who support the Tea Party.

While liberals will no doubt attempt to hold ALL Tea Party supporters accountable for it, it now become OUR job, as Tea Party supporters, regardless of individual candidate support, to hold Beck and ONLY Beck accountable.

  1. Personally, I believe the race card was just about wore out and thereby becoming a non-issue (accept for a small group) when Obama came into the picture. He has used and abused it constantly and for the sole purpose to send us back to a time when it was a problem in our country. He’s done this ONLY to cause division among Americans AGAIN.

If the mature public would just step back each time it’s played, they would clearly see what BO’s agenda’s is and has been (with this subject) from the start. HE and his mouthy wife are clearly racist. To cover up for their own inability to accept everyone as equal, they jumped on the opportunity band wagon, pointing fingers, and claiming others as prejudice to cause division among the American public! just MHO…
