Money isn’t what you think it is….

First off, I am not dead. I didn’t just do drive-by postings to the National Patriot. I have been busy here at my base. We recently had an exercise at my base, and I have been busy with getting other military-related tasks complete. Also, I am taking a class that I think I will rather enjoy…US History. At any rate…here I go:

What is money? Most would either say or have you believe it is the cash in your pocket or the silver in your safe. I am here to tell you it is neither. And when I tell you what money really is, you will be amazed. First thing I need to tell you is this: Please read all the way through with an open mind. Second thing I want to tell you is: This is really simple once you read it with an open mind.

You may be surprised to know that money isn’t what you may think it is. It isn’t dollars, silver or gold. It isn’t rupee’s, rubles or pesos. So, instead of classifying all of that as “money”, let’s call them all by their one proper name: currency. Currency is what allows you to buy whatever it is you want. Currency is property, something you own. You take that property and trade it for other property, or amass it in order to purchase more expensive pieces of property later on. You can even lend that property to someone else on the condition they repay you that property plus a little extra. But just how did you come to own the currency in the first place?

I am sure you know the saying, “Time is money?” There is more truth to that than you may care to think about. We could not be even enjoying time were it not for life. In that regard, time is finite for each and every one of us. It can even be equated to property, for the sake of this argument. We all know we have to work in order to earn a set amount of currency. Work takes time, and therefore you expend part of your life working for an exchange of property.

So, I ask again, what is money? It is your LIFE. Each and and every one of us who has a job (approx 49%) trades his or her life away for currency. That currency is OURS. By taxing us before we even get the chance to decide how we want to spend our currency, the government is telling us that it owns part of our lives.

So, what is my point? My point is, ever since the 16th Amendment, the government has been on a progressive turn. Ever since 1913, the 16th Amendment has given the government the power to tax our income before we even get the chance to enjoy it. Basically, the income tax has made slaves of each and every one of us. Even with conservative presidents in office, the progress towards socialism has never truly stopped. Harding, Coolidge and Reagan weren’t able to abolish the 16th, if they even knew the truth of that amendment.

Where am I going with this? The 16th has to be repealed in order to get our country back on course. The Federal Government has time and again proven it cannot spend our lives properly. It holds itself ABOVE us when in reality it should be subservient TO us. When the states allowed the citizens to be shackled, that was when the Government realized it could do whatever it wanted with us. It could push us around, make us fight amongst each other, and use taxes to reward the laziest among us causing more fighting and securing a voter base.

Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 plan might work, if the 16th were repealed. There is no way it would work if it were instituted on top of the tax system we currently have.  The flat tax would be even better with the right controls in place (similar to that of the balanced budget amendment where super majorities would be needed to raise taxes, among other things…but that would also require repealing the 17th Amendment thereby giving states power at the federal level once again). The Fair Tax would be the best, because then ALL OF US would not only be paying our fair share, we would determine what our fair share would be by choosing to spend our currency or not. In fact, how is this for an idea… Each state already has its own GDP. Every state should be required to pay to the Federal Government a set portion of that GDP. This still requires repeal of the 16th Amendment, effectively setting up a wall between the citizens of the various states and the Federal Government. I don’t know what the outcome would be because as I said, I am not an economist, but I DO know the Federal Government would be out of our pockets and we would choose to live in the state with the lowest taxes.

Think about it…the two most progressive amendments to the Constitution…the 16th and 17th Amendments. Without those, we would not be having the crises we have right now. The government would be working within its means. Business would be flourishing in the United States, and the states would be able to control their Senators. We would be more in line with what the founders had in mind. A collection of experiments. Imagine, 50 states, choosing how to tax and what to spend those taxes on. More oppressive states would lose out to the more liberty-oriented states. We would truly be in a Republic then. As it stands, we are in a soft tyranny.

So, when you look at your paycheck and see the taxes you pay, remember, those numbers represent a portion of your life that you had stolen by the federal government. Exercise what little freedom you have left and vote, write and bang the drums. By being focused and loud, we will be noticed and we will get back what they have taken from us.

That is all for now. Shadow out…
