About 15 minutes into his speech, the Great “Unifier” and Chief, Obama, made a point of referencing GOP Rep. Paul Ryan’s proposed budget, remarking it was “embraced by several of their party’s presidential candidates.”
Really? “Their party?” Yeah, that unifies a nation and a people within in it. The arrogance of Dear Leader continues to widen the rift – not only with what he says, but how he says it.
Isn’t he supposed to bring the American people? Didn’t he say he would reach across the aisle and not play partisan politics? I guess what he neglected to tell us that when he reaches across the aisle, it would be with his middle finger extended. He puts being a Democrat over being an American (I know, I know…he puts EVERYTHING over being an American, but I think you see my point).
He is not the head of a country; he is the leader of the Democratic Party.
If Rep. Ryan had said “THEIR party will not even consider my proposal,” all hell would break loose and he would probably be called a racist for making a “you people” remark (which he didn’t, but you get my point).
In fact, even the media didn’t seem impressed. I wonder if they are finally suffering with buyer’s remorse at supporting a candidate without vetting him first or making any effort to examine his life and record. It would seem Obama’s lackluster performance netted only one highlight – and every news outlet covered the footage – VP Joe Biden was sleeping through his boss’s speech!
This performance by the POTUS and VP have earned them much deserved criticism and they are certainly both the punchline for jokes galore:
“Well, he wasn’t sleeping, Judge, he was praying” quipped Mike Huckabee to Judge Andrew Napolitano on Fox News. “He was praying that nobody will find out just how disingenuous they are about actually cutting the expenses, and hoping and praying that the American people don’t catch on to the games that they’re trying to hoist upon us.”
Sleeping or praying? Your call:
Republican political consultant and former White House counselor Ed Gillespie told Newsmax that House Speaker John Boehner should be credited for getting Obama to finally confront his “deficit attention disorder” and agree to spending cuts. A Facebook friend said Biden was drugged to make sure he couldn’t say it was a big F’ing deal.
Another friend offered that Biden was practicing for his post political career as an air traffic controller.
I will let the smarter people and pundits dissect the numbers, crunch them, compare them, and offer up the facts of why Obama, as usual, is way off base – which even I understand from a layman’s point of view on financial matters.
“From my point of view, taxes are not on the table, because we don’t have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem,” offered Mitch McConnell.
And for two excellent looks at the speech, check out these at Townhall.com:

- Ryan Rolls His Eyes at New “Biden Commission” [no, this is not a commission studying air traffic controllers - it is just another speedbump]
For me, it is more than just the disheartening message – it was the messenger and the mode of communication that was meant to further class envy, political intolerance, a socialist agenda, and a sneer at the very foundation of the America I grew up in and love.
